Leslie Andrew Parlane to be Clerk of the Magistrates' Court at Otorohanga for the purposes of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1928, and Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates' Court at Otorohanga for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 21st day of October, 1942.
Stanley Graham Heffernan to be Registrar of Electors and Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Temuka for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and its amendments, and Returning Officer for the Licensing District of Temuka for the purposes of the Licensing Act, 1908, and its amendments, on and from the 20th day of August, 1942.
Thomas Cecil Bowker to be Registrar of Electors for the Electoral Districts of Wellington Central, Wellington East, Wellington North, Wellington South, Wellington Suburbs, and Wellington West for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and its amendments, on and from 17th day of September, 1942.
Gessenox Alfred Hislop to be Registrar of Electors for the Electoral Districts of Dunedin Central, Dunedin North, Dunedin South, and Dunedin West Electoralates for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and its amendments, on and from 30th day of September, 1942.
Alfred Allan Besley to be Registrar of Electors for the Electoral Districts of Christchurch East, Christchurch North, Christchurch South, Avon, Lyttelton, and Riccarton for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and its amendments, on and from the 2nd day of October, 1942.
Charles Edward Rose to be Registrar of Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the District of East Taieri, on and from the 8th day of October, 1942.
Timothy Keogh to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Helensville, on and from the 12th day of October, 1942.
Alexander McLeod to be an Inspector of Factories for the purposes of the Factories Act, 1921-22, on and from 19th day of October, 1942.
William Petrie to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Fertilizers Act, 1927, on and from the 1st day of November, 1942.

CITIZENS and traffic control authorities throughout New Zealand are requested to observe the practice adopted in this Dominion on former similar occasions of two minutes’ silence from 11 a.m., and the suspension of all vehicular traffic during that period, on 11th November next.
Where a service is held it is suggested that it should be at the local cenotaph or war memorial, as the case may be.

Notifying Land in Auckland Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

PURSUANT to the provisions of subsection (2) of section 48 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto was acquired by the Crown on the 20th day of July, 1942, and became subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, as from that date.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Whakatane County, situated in Block III, Whakatane Survey District, containing by admeasurement 199 acres 2 roods and 37 perches, more or less, being Lots 1 and 2 on D.P. 27550, being parts of Allotments 307, 307E, and 307D, Parish of Waimana, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title 699, folio 121, Auckland Registry. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/149/372, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
