of appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy:—

John Mark Armstrong, Edward Courtney Thorne, and Maxson John McDowell, Naval Cadets, promoted to the rank of Midshipman,
to date 1st September, 1942.

William Hutton Peterson, Cadet (E), promoted to the rank of
Midshipman (E), to date 1st September, 1942.

Surgeon Lieutenant Derek Henry Symes, M.B., Ch.B. (N.Z.), granted the acting rank of Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander whilst holding present appointment.

ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE.

Commander Harold Stead (retired), appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed (to serve in the rank of Lieutenant-Commander, Royal Naval Reserve (retired)), to date 21st August, 1942.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL RESERVE.

Lieutenant Robert Inglis Floris, granted the status of “Qualified Officer,” to date 26th June, 1942.

Temporary Acting Lieutenant-Commander William MacMillan (T. 124), appointment and Temporary Commission terminated (medically unfit), to date 1st September, 1942.

Mr. Frank Graham MacDonald, appointed Honorary Commander (for duty as Chief Examining Officer), to date 10th July, 1942.

Mr. Donald Edward Vellenoweth, entered as Temporary Skipper (to serve under T. 124 X Agreement) and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 10th July, 1942.

Mr. William Charles Hugh Watt, entered as Temporary Lieutenant (to serve under T. 124 XV Agreement) and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 13th July, 1942.

Mr. Walter Madigan, entered as Temporary Skipper (to serve under T. 124 XV Agreement) and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 13th July, 1942.
