NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—AUCKLAND HARBOUR. Mooring Buoys Established

Position : Onetaunga Wharf. Lat. 36° 49' 21" S.; long., 174° 41' 57" E.

Details : Five black can mooring buoys have been established in the area enclosed by a line extending 243° 720 ft. from the north-west corner of above wharf, thence 322° for 800 ft., thence 052° for 550 ft., thence 142° 900 ft. to starting point.

Notice to Mariners No. 24, 1942.

NEW ZEALAND NAUTICAL ALMANAC AND TIDE TABLES. Change in Publication.

MARINERS and others are hereby advised that shortage of paper has made it necessary to publish the portion of the Almanac containing astronomical information, Tide Tables, &c., separately as Part I, and to use the Port Information as given in the current edition for an indefinite period. Part I will be available to the usual purchasers and will contain a summary of alterations to bring the Port Information up to date. A limited number of the portion containing the Port Information will also be published separately as Part II, but copies will be available only to mariners who have been unable to purchase the current edition.

Part I will contain the following information : Astronomical ephemeris of the sun; daily times of sunrise and sunset at Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Wellington, with time differences for ascertaining similar times at Invercargill, Nelson, New Plymouth, and Westport; phases of the moon; mean places and meridian passage of stars and times of moonrise and moonset at Wellington.

Tidal predictions giving the times and heights of high and low water for the ports of Auckland, Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, New Plymouth, Wellington, and Westport; time differences by which the approximate times of high and low water at 104 places in the Dominion may be found; and tidal stream predictions giving the approximate daily times of the flood and ebb streams making at Tory Channel and French Pass.

List of New Zealand lighthouses, radio beacons, and fog signals; list of latest dated charts of the New Zealand coast and harbours; list of licensed adjusters and coastal pilots, &c.; and a summary of alterations to bring the Port Information in the current edition up to date.

Part II will contain the following information : Information and plans relative to ports in the Dominion; important Notices to Mariners issued by the Admiralty; caution when approaching and navigating within British ports; distress signals and procedure; regulations for preventing collisions at sea; signal letters of ships registered in the Dominion.

Part I will be published on the 1st November at Wellington and afterwards may be purchased from Government Shipping Offices in the Dominion, or Marine Department, Wellington.


Part II will also be published on the same date, but copies will be available only to mariners who have been unable to purchase a copy of the 1942 edition.

The Almanac is published by direction of the Hon. the Minister of Marine.

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925.—Notice of proposed Cancellation of Registration.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Canterbury Carpenters and Joiners' Industrial Union of Workers, Registered No. 48, situated at Christchurch, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 22 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary.

The Timaru Milk Delivery Scheme 1942, Amendment No. 1.

PURSUANT to the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942,* the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows:

  1. This Notice may be cited as the Timaru Milk Delivery Scheme 1942, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Timaru Milk Delivery Scheme 1942† (hereinafter referred to as the principal scheme).

  2. The principal scheme is hereby amended by inserting after clause (5) the following clause:

“(5A) It shall be a condition of this scheme that any purchaser of milk who requires the delivery of pasteurized or non-pasteurized milk shall be supplied with the kind of milk so required. If the party to the scheme in whose area the purchaser resides has no supply or not a sufficient supply of the kind of milk so required he may deliver such milk on behalf of another party to the scheme.”
