THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

from 12.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. from Monday to Friday inclusive,
and from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, but such suspension shall
be subject to the following conditions, namely:-
(1) Time worked between 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m. or after 5 p.m.
from Monday to Friday inclusive, or on Saturday,
shall be deemed to be overtime, and shall be paid for
at the rate of time and a half with a minimum of ls. 6d.
per hour. The maximum overtime that may be worked
shall be two hours per day from Monday to Friday
inclusive, and four hours on Saturday.
(2) Every worker who is to be employed after 5 p.m. on any day
shall be allowed a break during the afternoon of fifteen
minutes for refreshments, such break to be counted as
time worked.
4. Should any dispute arise concerning the transfer of female
workers to work customarily performed by male workers, the
matter shall be settled by agreement between the employer and the
Canterbury Freezing Works and Related Trades' Industrial Union
of Workers or, failing such agreement, shall be dealt with as provided
in section 13 of the above-mentioned award.
5. This Order shall come into effect on the day of the date
hereof.

The Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and its Amendments.-Fixing
the Closing-hours of Tobacconists'.Shops within the Borough of
Kaiapoi.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to the
Minister of Labour from the occupiers of tobacconists'
shops within the Borough of Kaiapoi pursuant to section 32 of
the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22:
And whereas he is satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops
within the said borough :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, the Minister
of Labour doth hereby direct that on and after the 12th day of
October, 1942, all the said shops within the said borough shall be
closed in the evening of working-days as follows : On Mondays,
Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 8 p.m., on Fridays at 8.30 p.m.,
and on Saturdays at 9 p.m., with the following exception : Should
the occupier of any shop affected by this notice observe, pursuant
to section 14 (2) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-1922, Saturday
as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour
on Thursday for such shop shall be 9 p.m.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education
reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, at
2.30 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, 17th November, 1942, under the
provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public
Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-EDUCATION RESERVE.
Rodney County.--Block XVI, Mahurangi Survey District.
Lots 1 and 2 on D.P. 30758, being Allotments 60 and 62, Mahurangi
Village : Area, 16 acres 0 roods 9 perches. Upset annual rental, £5.
Weighted with £5 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising old school building over fifty years old, 28 ft. by 15 ft., in
poor condition.
This area is situated on a point on the western side of the
Mahurangi Peninsula and fronts an unformed road. Warkworth is
ten miles away; nine miles are good road, but last mile is formed
clay road, and the sections are about 7 chains from formation,
this 7 chains being unformed and steep. The main access is by
water. The land is undulating to hilly, 10 acres in rough feed, 5
acres light scattered bush. Fair clay soil, no water; some blackberry and gorse are evident.
Special Condition.
The purchaser of the lease must sign an undertaking not to
call on either the Crown or the local body to do anything to improve the existing road access.
Form of lease may be perused and any further particulars
required obtained at the office of the undersigned.

Settlement (Town) Land in Marlborough Land District for Selection
on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is
open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act,
1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications
will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim,
up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, 10th November, 1942.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Thursday, 12th
November, 1942, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable
to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any
Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required
to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the
first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, weighting for improvements,
and lease fee.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.-SETTLEMENT. (TOWN) LAND.
Awatere County.-Town of Ward.-Flaxbourne Settlement.

the railway-station.
