  • This rate also includes haulage, sorting, and unloading charges at Picton. Where sorting and unloading is not incurred the rate will be reduced by 1s. 8d. per ton.

    Marine Department,
    Wellington, N.Z., 28th September, 1942.
    NEW ZEALAND.-NORTH ISLAND.
    AIR TO AIR-FIRING RANGES ESTABLISHED.
    (1) Masterton Dangerous Area.
    Position : Flat Point. Lat., 41° 15½' S.; long., 175° 57½' E. (approx.).
    Details : An air to air-firing range has been established in the area within a line extending 124° 3·4 miles from the above position; thence 034° 9·6 miles; thence 304° to the shore.
    (2) Seagrove Dangerous Area.
    Position : (a) 156° 9·4 miles from Manakau South Head Light. Lat., 37° 03½' S.; long., 174° 32½' E. (approx.).
    Details : An air to air-firing range has been established in the area within a line extending 249° 3·4 miles from position (a); thence 159° 5 miles ; thence 069° to the shore.
    Note.--Mariners are requested to avoid these areas, if possible, as firing may take place at any time.

    Notice calling up Reservists for Service with the Armed Forces.
    National Service Department,
    Wellington, 1st October, 1942.
    IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have on the 1st October, 1942, issued to--
    Jack Antunovich, Butcher, Coronation Road, Mangere, Registration No. 633308,
    Lawrence George Byres, Barman-Porter, care of Gridiron Hotel, Princes Street, Dunedin, Registration No. 632861, and
    Ralph Alexander Renton, Labourer, care of Mr. James Renton, Otatara, Invercargill, Registration No. 632601,
    notices calling them up for service with the Armed Forces, such persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.
