ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of August, 1942.

Present : HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

Pursuant to section five of the Native Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby declare the Native lands described in the Schedule hereto to be included in the Native reservation constituted by an Order in Council made, pursuant to the said section five, on the fourth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, and published in the Gazette of the twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, at page 2677, for the common use, as a papakainga, of the members of the tribe known as Waikato, of which the late Te Rata Mahuta Tawhiao Potatau te Wherowhero was Chief, and of all Natives, including homeless Natives, who shall fully acknowledge his chieftainship or that of his successors.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of August, 1942.

Present : HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

Whereas by subsection two of section eighteen of the Public Service Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Commissioner may, whenever it appears advantageous to the Public Service so to do, certify to the Governor-General that it is expedient to add any office to or abolish any office from the Administrative Division of the Public Service of New Zealand ; and the Governor-General in Council may, upon such certificate, add any office to the Administrative Division or abolish any office therein :

And whereas the Public Service Commissioner has certified to the Governor-General that it is expedient to abolish the office of Assistant Secretary of Labour, Labour Department, from the said Administrative Division :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said section and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby abolish the office of Assistant Secretary of Labour, Labour Department, from the said Administrative Division.

Officers authorized to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

Pursuant to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Warrant appointing Conciliation Commissioner under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925.

In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by section forty of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Samuel Ritchie to be a Conciliation Commissioner under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act, the appointment to be dated from the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 25th day of August, 1942.

Declaring Crown Land in the Taranaki Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the “said land”) is Crown land not acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, but is adjacent to certain land acquired under the said Act, and known as the Tututawa Settlement and can conveniently be disposed of therewith :

Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and five of the said Act, and on the recommendation of the Land Settlement Board, and after considering the report of the Taranaki District Land Board, do hereby declare the said land to be subject to the said Act, to the intent that it shall hereupon be deemed to be portion of the said Tututawa Settlement and may be disposed of accordingly.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Parr's Park Scenic Board.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act), for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely :- Albert Perris, Rowland Wood, Norman Chittam, Charles Freeman, and Arthur Roy Stansell,

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Parr’s Park Scenic Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,-- 1. The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Friday, the eleventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two, at eight o'clock p.m., in the Swanson Public Hall, Swanson, and meetings shall be held thereafter at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.
