EVIDENCE having been lodged with me of the loss of
the outstanding duplicate of Mortgage No. 193157,
in the names of PLUMBERS LIMITED and HILL
AND JACKSON, LIMITED, affecting 31·24 perches,
more or less, being part Section 38, Hutt District, and
being Lot 6 on Deposited Plan No. 8735, being all the
land in certificate of title, Vol. 388, folio 109 (Wel-
lington Registry), and application having been made for
a provisional mortgage in lieu thereof, notice is hereby
given of my intention to issue such provisional mortgage
after fourteen days from the date of the Gazette con-
taining this notice.

THE Scottish Metropolitan Assurance Co., Ltd., has given
notice to the Public Trustee that the said company
has ceased to carry on in New Zealand the business of life
insurance in terms of the Life Insurance Act, 1908, and
proposes to withdraw the securities deposited with the
Public Trustee under section 3 of the Life Insurance Act, 1908.
The Public Trustee, therefore, gives notice that on being
satisfied that all the liabilities of the said company in respect
of life insurance in New Zealand have been fully liquidated,
he proposes, in accordance with section 12 of the Life Insurance
Act, 1908, to return the said securities to the said company.
Any objection, in accordance with section 12 of the Life
Insurance Act, 1908, to the return of the said securities, must
be lodged with the Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office,
Lambton Quay, Wellington, on or before the 30th day of
September, 1942.
