WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, Charles John Talbot, of Fairlie, Farmer, was appointed a member of the Main Highways Board in terms of subsection three, clause (c), of section five of the Main Highways Act, 1922 :
And whereas the said Charles John Talbot died on the twenty-sixth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two :
And whereas Frederick Robert Flatman, of Geraldine, Farmer, has been recommended by the Executive Body of the New Zealand Countiesβ Association :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby appoint the said
Frederick Robert Flatman
to be a member of the Main Highways Board in terms of subsection three, clause (c), of section five of the Main Highways Act, 1922.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 28th day of July, 1942.

Appointment of Acting-Governor of the Reserve Bank.

It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Reserve Bank Emergency Regulations 1940, reappointed William Fox Longley Ward, Esquire, of Wellington, to be Acting-Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, and to hold such office for a term of three months commencing on the 1st day of August, 1942.
