Appointment of District Licensing Authority for No. 3 Transport District.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Transport Licensing Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport doth hereby revoke the appointment of Thomas Herbert Langford, of Christchurch, as District Licensing Authority for No. 3 Transport District, made by Warrant dated the 17th day of July, 1940, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th July, 1940, at page 1724, and doth hereby appoint Stanley Victor Raines, of Dunedin, as District Licensing Authority for No. 3 Transport District.

The Rails Return Notice 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939, the Minister of Supply and Munitions hereby requires and directs as follows :—

  1. This Notice may be cited as the Rails Return Notice 1942.
  2. This Notice shall come into force on the day following publication thereof in the Gazette.
  3. Every person who on the date of coming into force of this Notice has in his possession or control, but not in use, any new or second-hand railway-rails (excluding rails with grooved head commonly known as tram-rails), or any accessories, shall, on or before the 10th day of August, 1942, deliver to the Secretary of Supply, Wellington, a statement containing the particulars set out hereunder, namely :—

(a) In the case of rails, giving separate particulars for new rails, second-hand rails, and bent rails—

(i) Number of rails and length of each :
(ii) Weight per yard.

(b) In the case of fish-plates, number of pairs complete with bolts.

(c) In the case of other accessories—e.g., switches, points, crossings, cross-overs, number of each kind.

(d) Address where the materials referred to in paragraphs (a), (b), and (c) are stored or kept.

Revoking a Warrant excluding Streets from Limitation as to Speed and excluding Portion of a Street from the Speed Limitation imposed by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Minister of Transport doth hereby revoke that portion of the Warrant dated the 21st day of December, 1936, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 92 of the 22nd day of December, 1936, at page 2511, in so far as it applies to the street described in the First Schedule hereto, and doth hereby exclude the street described in the Second Schedule hereto from the limitation as to speed imposed by the said section.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

SITUATED within One Tree Hill Borough—

Great South Road (all that portion from its junction with Jubilee Road to the southern boundary of One Tree Hill Borough at St. Anne’s Bridge, a distance of approximately two miles and a half).

SECOND SCHEDULE.

SITUATED within One Tree Hill Borough—

Great South Road (all that portion from a point 10 chains measured along the said road in a south-easterly direction from its intersection with Aranui Road to the southern boundary of One Tree Hill Borough at St. Anne’s Bridge, a distance of approximately one mile).
