Approval of Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940.

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve, until further notice, of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driver of a motor-omnibus, shall not apply to Eleanor Ruth Platt, of Christchurch.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.

PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to the driver of a heavy trade motor, shall not apply to Henry Stewart McDonald, of Ngahinepouri.

The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice fixing Prices of certain Grades.

Office of the Minister of Marketing, Wellington, 26th June, 1942.

PURSUANT to Regulation 5 : 1 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons of Fancy Grade and Commercial Grade respectively, delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

The prices are fixed on an average basic price of 7s. 6d. for sufficient fruit which when cured will pack a bushel case.

Period of delivery (both days inclusive): 1st July to 31st July, 1942—

The Footwear Control Notice 1942.

PURSUANT to the Factory Emergency Regulations 1939*, I, George Augustus Pascoe, Factory Controller, hereby direct and give notice as follows:-

  1. This Notice may be cited as the Footwear Control Notice 1942.

  2. This Notice shall come into force on the day next following the date of publication hereof in the Gazette.

  3. In this Notice— "The said specification" means the document bearing date May, 1942, entitled "New Zealand Emergency Standard Specification for Heels for Women's Footwear" and marked "N.Z.S.S.E. 17";

"Heel" has the meaning assigned thereto by paragraph No. 2 of the said specification.

  1. This Notice shall not apply to the manufacture of footwear commonly known as "surgical" nor to manufacture in fulfilment of orders commonly known as "bespoke" orders.

  2. Compliance with this Notice may be excused or the requirements of this Notice may be varied by the express prior consent in writing of the Factory Controller and subject to such conditions as may be specified in such consent.

  3. Any such consent may at any time be withdrawn by notice in writing by the Factory Controller given to the person to whom such consent was given.

  4. After the coming into force of this Notice no person shall, except as provided by clause 4 of this Notice, manufacture any heels for women's footwear except of one of the kinds enumerated in paragraph No. 1 of the said specification, namely:-

(a) Cuban heels;

(b) Dutch-boy heels;

(c) Wedge heels;

(d) Wurtemburg (Louis) heels.

  1. After the coming into force of this Notice no person shall, except as provided by clause 4 of this Notice, manufacture any heels for women’s footwear except heels complying with one of the specifications set out in paragraphs No. 3 to No. 6 (inclusive) of the said specification as qualified respectively by paragraphs No. 7 and No. 8 of the said specification.

Notice requiring Returns of Stocks of certain Substances.

PURSUANT to clause 6 (2) (a) of the Medical Supplies Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Michael Herbert Watt, Medical Supplies Controller, do hereby give notice as under:-

  1. This Notice may be cited as the Medical Supplies Notice 1942, No. 8.

  2. Every person who owns, or has in his possession, or controls for sale by wholesale or for manufacturing purposes, any of the substances named in the Schedule hereto shall declare in writing delivered to me at the Head Office in Wellington of the Department of Health within seven days after the date of publication of this Notice in the Gazette, the quantities (to be separately stated in respect of each of the items set out in the said Schedule) of each of the said substances so owned or had in possession or controlled.

SCHEDULE.

THE following substances, if so prepared as to be drugs or substances named and included in the British Pharmacopoeia or in the British Pharmaceutical Codex:-

  1. Soluble saccharin.

  2. Saccharin.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921-22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Leslie John Summerfield Stanton, of the Public Trust Office, Timaru, to be deputy of the District Public Trustee, Timaru, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous warrants appointing any deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.
