National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—
Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings
(No. 71).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by
Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency
Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth
hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Under-
takings (No. 71) by including therein the undertakings

Special Order made by Akaroa County Council merging
Pigeon Bay Road District.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 10th June, 1942.

THE following special order, made by the Akaroa
County Council merging the Pigeon Bay Road
District, is published in accordance with the provisions
of the Counties Act, 1920.

SPECIAL ORDER ABOLISHING PIGEON BAY ROAD DISTRICT.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and in the
matter of the Pigeon Bay Road District be merged
in the Akaroa County.

Moved by S. J. Vogan; seconded by A. R. Haylock.

“That, in exercise of the powers conferred upon
it by section 30 of the Counties Act, 1920, the Akaroa
County Council resolves by way of special order that
on the gazetting of this special order the Pigeon Bay
Road District shall be merged in the County of Akaroa
and the Pigeon Bay Road Board abolished; and,
further, that the said Council, pursuant to section 122
of the Counties Act, 1920, either in addition to or in
lieu of any general rate to make and levy a separate
rate upon all rateable property within the said Road
District.”

Carried unanimously, 1st May, 1942.

I, Andrew Gray Foreman, of Duvauchelles, County
Clerk, hereby certify that the above special order has
been duly made.

Date of Election by Fire-insurance Companies to fill
Extraordinary Vacancy on the Eltham Fire Board.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 17th June, 1942.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and
the rules made thereunder, the Minister charged
with the administration of the said Act doth hereby
appoint Friday, the 10th day of July, 1942, to be
the date for holding the election of one member of
the Eltham Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies
concerned, such election being held to fill the extra-
ordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr.
A. D. Taylor.
