Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following appointments in the Public Service:—

John Duncan Kerr

to be Registrar of Marriages for the District of Te Awamutu for the purposes of the Marriage Act, 1908, Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Te Awamutu for the purposes of the Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1924, and Registrar of Births and Deaths of Māoris at Te Awamutu on and from the 8th day of June, 1942.

Leonard David Brown

to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Denniston, on and from the 30th day of January, 1942.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 78).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby declare the undertakings set forth hereunder to be essential undertakings for the purposes of those regulations:—

The Army Department.
The Navy Department.
The Air Department.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Declaration of Essential Undertaking (No. 79).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby declare the undertaking set forth hereunder to be an essential undertaking for the purposes of those regulations:—

J. H. Perano and Co., at Whakenui, Picton.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Industry (No. 3).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Industry (No. 3) by adding after the figures “1938” the words “including the maintenance and repair of the plant and machinery of such factories and creameries.”

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 8).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 8) by including therein the undertaking set forth hereunder:—

New Zealand Glue Co., Ltd.; at Hornby.
