Amending a Proclamation setting apart Crown Land as a
Provisional State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the twenty-eighth
day of October, one thousand nine hundred and
forty-one (hereinafter referred to as "the said Proclamation"),
and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 88 of the sixth
day of November, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one,
at page 3343, lands containing a total area of 1,757 acres
0 roods 34 perches in the Nelson Land District were proclaimed
as provisional State forest in terms of section eighteen of the
Forests Act, 1921–22:
And whereas an error was made in the Schedule to the
said Proclamation and it is desirable that the error be
rectified :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers conferred on me by section three of the
Forests Amendment Act, 1925, do hereby by way of amendment
to the said Proclamation declare that for the fourth
paragraph in the Schedule to the said Proclamation there shall
be substituted the words and description set out in the Schedule
hereto :
And I do hereby further declare that this Proclamation
shall take effect as from the date on which the said
Proclamation was intended to take effect.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON CONSERVANCY.
Also all that area containing 265 acres 3 roods, more or less,
being Section 7 and portion of Section 5, Block VI, Otumahana Survey District, and bounded generally as follows :
Towards the east and south respectively by Sections 6 and 3
(provisional State forest, Gazette, 1925, page 2887), Block VI
aforesaid, and again towards the south by a public road ;
towards the west by Section 13 (provisional State forest,
Gazette; 1925, page 2887), Block V ; and towards the north
by a branch of Hodge’s Creek.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 6th day of
January, 1942.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests
Act, 1921–22, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set
apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a
permanent State forest.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND
CONSERVANCY.
All that area in the North Auckland Land District, Hokianga
County, containing by admeasurement 15 acres, more or
less, and being Section 15, Block VI, Hokianga Survey
District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the
plan No. 7/32, deposited in the Head Office of the State
Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North
Auckland plan S.O. 12029.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 6th day of
January, 1942.

Act, 1921–22, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set
apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a
provisional State forest.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON CONSERVANCY.
All that area in the Nelson Land District, Buller County,
containing by admeasurement 120 acres, more or less, being
part of Section 64, Block IX, Oparara Survey District, and
bounded as follows : On the north by Section 20, Block V,
Oparara Survey District ; on the east by the other part of
Section 64, Block IX aforesaid ; on the south by Section 30,
Block IX aforesaid; and on the west by Sections 54 and 94,
Block IX aforesaid : save and excepting an intersecting
public road. As the same is more particularly delineated on
plan No. 101/9, deposited in the Head Office of the State
Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

containing by admeasurement 1,093 acres, more or less,
being portion of Section 2, Block V, Motupiko Survey District,
and bounded as follows : Towards the north by Section 11,
Block I, Motupiko Survey District ; towards the east generally
by the remaining portion of Section 2 aforesaid, by Section 3,
and by Section 5 (provisional State forest, Gazette, 1925,
page 2887), Block V aforesaid; and towards the west generally
by Sections 10 and 6 (permanent State forest, Gazette, 1935,
page 2), Block V aforesaid, and by Small-grazing Run 9,
Block I, Motupiko Survey District. As the same is more
particularly delineated on plan No. 108/44, deposited in
the Head Office, State Forest Service at Wellington, and
thereon bordered red. (Nelson S.O. plan 9260.)

under the Seal of that Dominion, this 6th day of

Revoking Protection afforded certain Mining Privileges by the
Kawarau Gold Mining Amalgamation Act, 1930.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 7th day
of January, 1942.
Present :
THE HON. W. NASH PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section five of the Kawarau Gold Mining
Amalgamation Act, 1930, it is enacted that until
the Governor-General by Order in Council directs otherwise
with regard to all or any of the mining privileges referred
to in section four of the said Act, the said mining privileges
shall not be liable to forfeiture or deemed to be abandoned :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to revoke the protection
afforded the said privileges :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby
direct that from and after the date hereof the said mining
privileges shall be subject to the provisions of the Mining Act,
1926, relating to forfeiture and abandonment, and the
protection hitherto afforded such mining privileges is hereby
revoked.
