National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 76).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby declare the water-supply, sanitation, and drainage services of all local authorities and public bodies, except in respect of drainage-works as defined by the Land Drainage Act, 1908, to be essential undertakings for the purposes of those regulations.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 13).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 13) by deleting therefrom the words:—
“T. H. Watson and R. W. Clouston, at Otatara, Invercargill,”
and by substituting therefor the words—
“Paton and Clouston, at Otatara, Invercargill.”

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 16).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 16) by including therein the undertakings set forth hereunder:—
Motor Mowers, Ltd., at Hastings.
Federal Engineering Works, at Wellington.
His Master’s Voice (New Zealand), Ltd., at Wellington, in respect only of defence orders placed by the Munitions Controller.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 22).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 22) by deleting therefrom the words—
“King Box Co., Ltd., at Taumarunui,”
and by substituting therefor the words—
“Digby Perrett, at Taumarunui.”

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 62) by including therein the undertakings set forth hereunder:—
Reckitt and Coleman (New Zealand), Ltd., at Dunedin, in respect only of the manufacture of “Dettol” liquid antiseptic and of “Dettol” obstetric cream.

The Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and its Amendments.—Fixing the Closing-hours of Fruiterers’ Shops within the Combined District of Nelson.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the fruiterers’ shops within the Combined District of Nelson, comprising the City of Nelson and the Town District of Tahunanui, has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops within the said combined district be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6.30 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays at 11 p.m., during the months of May, June, and July in each year:
And whereas I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said combined district:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 1st day of June, 1942, all the fruiterers’ shops within the Combined District of Nelson shall be closed accordingly.
The notice dated 15th June, 1936, fixing the closing-hours of fruiterers’ shops in the Combined District of Nelson, and gazetted on the 25th June, 1936, shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.
