IN pursuance of a delegation to me by the Governor-General under section 239 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, of the powers conferred on the Governor-General by the statutory provisions hereinafter cited, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority conferred on the Governor-General by subsection (2) of section 10 and subsection (1) of section 147 of the said Act, do hereby authorize
Henry Colin Wood
being a post officer, to take declarations of postmasters and other post officers or telegraph officers under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, and to take declarations of telegraph officers for the purpose of the said subsection (1) of section 147.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 23 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, the registration of the Taranaki Hairdressers’, Hairworkers’, and Wigmakers’ Assistants’ Industrial Union of Workers, registered No. 1834, situated at Wellington, will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be cancelled at the expiration of six weeks from the date of this notice.

Timber Control Notice No. 44.
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939 and the Timber Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Alexander Robert Entrican, Timber Controller, hereby require and direct as follows :—

This Notice may be cited as the Timber Control Notice No. 44.

This Notice shall come into force on the day following publication thereof in the Gazette.

Every person carrying on business as a sawmiller (hereinafter referred to as “the owner”) shall, not later than the 30th day of April, 1942, deliver to the Timber Controller, Box 1, Government Buildings, Wellington, a statement containing the particulars set out hereunder of all wire ropes discarded, disposed of, or acquired by him after the 15th day of December, 1941, but before the coming into force of this notice, namely :—
(a) In the case of wire ropes worn out and discarded by the owner since that date—
(i) Sizes and lengths ;
(ii) Purposes for which they were used.
(b) In the case of wire ropes disposed of by way of sale or transfer by the owner since that date—
(i) Sizes and lengths ;
(ii) State whether such ropes were new or used, and in the case of used ropes give the estimated life ;
(iii) Purposes for which they were intended to be used ;
(iv) Name and address of the person to whom they were sold or transferred.
(c) In the case of wire ropes acquired by the owner since that date—
(i) Sizes and lengths ;
(ii) State whether such ropes are new or used, and in the case of used ropes give the estimated life ;
(iii) Purposes for which they are used or intended to be used ;
(iv) State whether they are in replacement of the wire ropes referred to in paragraph (a) above, or whether they are held in stock.
(4) Every owner who, at any time after the coming into force of this Notice, discards, disposes of by way of sale or transfer, or acquires any wire ropes, shall, not later than seven days thereafter, send written advice to the Timber Controller giving the particulars set out in paragraph (a), (b), or (c) of clause 3 hereof, as the case may require.

The Rubber Control Notice 1942.
PURSUANT to the Factory Emergency Regulations 1939, I, George Augustus Pascoe, Factory Controller, hereby give notice and direct as follows :—

This Notice may be cited as the Rubber Control Notice 1942.

This Notice shall come into force on the day next following the date of notification hereof in the Gazette.

No person being the occupier of a factory or the owner of factory materials shall use raw rubber for any purpose without the precedent consent of the Factory Controller.
-
Any such consent may at any time be withdrawn or varied by notice in writing given by the Factory Controller to the person to whom such consent was given.

Every owner of raw rubber shall, within seven days of the date of notification hereof in the Gazette, furnish in writing delivered to the Factory Controller particulars of such stocks of raw rubber stating the quantities held under the following headings :—
(a) Ribbed smoked sheet.
(b) Crepe rubber (including latex crepe).
(c) Liquid latex.

Supplements Nos. 7 and 9, relating to Pacific Islands Pilot, Vols. II and III respectively, have been published, and copies may be obtained at Mercantile Marine Offices at the main ports by persons who have purchased the volumes in New Zealand.
