National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—
Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 55).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby declare the undertakings set forth hereunder in respect only of Air Force work under contract to the Public Works Department to be essential undertakings for the purposes of those regulations:—
Henderson and Pollard, Ltd., at Auckland.
Spencer and Drake, at Palmerston North.
J. D. and L. Robertson, Ltd., at Nelson.

Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 8).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 8) by including therein the undertaking set forth hereunder:—

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries,
City of Christchurch.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 9th March, 1942.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the City of Christchurch and excluded from the County of Heathcote.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH AND EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north side of Sumner Road being the intersection of the north-western boundary of the Borough of Sumner with the boundary of the Heathcote County; thence proceeding generally in a southerly direction along the western boundary of the said Borough of Sumner to its intersection with the north-eastern side of Rural Section 24077Y (closed road); thence north-westerly along the said north-eastern side of Rural Section 24077Y and the north-eastern side of Rural Section 36956 (closed road) to its junction with Hill Top Road; thence northerly generally by the eastern side of that road and the eastern boundary of Rural Section 36793 (closed road) to the intersection of that boundary with Major Hornbrooks Road; thence across Major Hornbrooks Road, and again northerly generally along the eastern side of that road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Rural Section 1161; thence to and along that boundary, and northerly along the western boundary of the said Rural Section 1161 and the western boundary of Rural Section 4, across the Sumner Road to the intersection of the north-western side of that road with the said boundary; thence westerly across the road reserved along the right bank of the River Heathcote, and across the said river by a right line bearing 265° 09′, distance 681·5 links, to a point on the boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence north-westerly along that boundary a total distance of 317·0 links to the intersection of that boundary with the north-eastern boundary of Reserve 47A; thence easterly across the River Heathcote by a right line bearing 77° 56′, distance 750·0 links, to a point on the Heathcote County boundary; thence easterly generally along the Heathcote County boundary to the point of commencement.
