National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 19).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 19) by deleting therefrom the words: “J. Gadsden and Co., Ltd., at Christchurch,” and by substituting therefor the words: “J. Gadsden and Co., Ltd., at 118 Durham Street, Christchurch.”

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 22) by deleting therefrom the words:—
“Southland Silver Beech Co., Ltd., at Invercargill.
Waitane Sawmilling and Afforestation Company, Ltd., at Waitane.”

Christchurch and Area Bread Delivery Scheme, 1942, approved.
PURSUANT to Regulation 3 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Supply, being satisfied that all the vendors of bread (otherwise than vendors by sale over the counter or by sale in the course of groceries delivery) in the district specified in the scheme referred to in the Schedule hereto are parties to the scheme or have been given an opportunity of becoming parties thereto, doth hereby approve the said scheme.
SCHEDULE.
CHRISTCHURCH AND AREA BREAD DELIVERY SCHEME, 1942.
- For the purposes of the scheme—
“The district” means the area as indicated by a black border on the plan, including also the area of the Borough of Lyttelton:
“The plan” means the plan of the district deposited for the purposes of the scheme in the Head Office of the Transport Department at Wellington under No. 3296:
“Wholesale purchaser” is one who purchases bread for resale or for consumption by guests in a licensed hotel or other licensed accommodation premises:
“A week” means any period of seven consecutive days commencing on a Monday.

The conditions of the scheme approved hereby are that the bread of the bakers described hereunder shall be delivered by them to the premises only of wholesale purchasers and of invalids, and that not more than one of the said bakers shall supply the same wholesale purchaser in any one week.

The scheme shall come into operation on the day following the date of the publication in the Gazette of the notice of the approval of the scheme by the Minister of Supply.
