The Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939, and their Amendments.—Appointment of certain Persons to be an Emergency Disputes Committee.

IN pursuance of the powers in that behalf conferred upon him by the Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939, the Minister of Labour does hereby appoint the following persons to be an Emergency Disputes Committee for the purposes of the said regulations, and does refer to that committee a dispute which has arisen between the Canterbury Freezing-works and Related Trades Employees’ Industrial Union of Workers and Thos. Borthwick and Sons (A’sia), Limited :—

Representatives of Employers.
Wells, Arthur Clifford.
Keith, Owen Archibald.

Representatives of the Workers.
McLagan, Angus.
Walsh, Fintan Patrick.

The appointment of the Emergency Disputes Committee dated 3rd February, 1942, and published in the Gazette of the 5th February, 1942, at page 457, is revoked.

to be Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Raetihi for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, and Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court at Raetihi for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 2nd day of March, 1942.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block III, Waitapu Survey District, for Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Takaka and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2 acres 0 roods 17 perches.

Being part Section 79, Square 13.

Situated in Block III, Waitapu Survey District (Nelson R.D.). (S.O. 9233.)

In the Nelson Land District ; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 112993, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

As witness my hand at Wellington, this 3rd day of March, 1942.

Notifying Land in Auckland Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 26th February, 1942.

PURSUANT to the provisions of subsection (2) of section 48 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being the land known as part of the Tahaia Settlement, was acquired by the Crown on the 23rd day of October, 1941, and became subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, as from that date.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—OTOROHANGA COUNTY.—TAHAIA SETTLEMENT.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 39 perches, more or less, being part of Pukeroa-Hangatiki No. 2c 4b 2b Block, situate in Block VIII, Orahiri Survey District, and being all the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Volume 783, folio 37, Auckland Registry. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/185 “A,” deposited in the Head Office, [Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland plan 10905, red).
