Warrant vesting the Control of the Mangatainoka River Bridge in the Pahiatua County Council, and apportioning the Cost of Maintenance.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that the Mangatainoka River Bridge, described in the Schedule hereto, together with the protection-works for a distance of fifty (50) chains above, and ten (10) chains below the said bridge (which protection-works are hereby declared and defined to be part of the said bridge) shall, on and after the date of the gazetting hereof, be under the control of the Pahiatua County Council; and I do hereby further direct that the cost of maintaining the said bridge, less such contribution (if any) as may be made thereto by the Government of New Zealand or the Main Highways Board, shall be borne by the Pahiatua County Council and the Pahiatua Borough Council in equal proportions; and I do also further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Pahiatua Borough Council shall be paid from time to time in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed out of the funds of the said Council, within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Pahiatua County Council, and that such payment shall be made from time to time to the Clerk, Pahiatua County Council, for and on behalf of the said Borough Council.
SCHEDULE.
THAT bridge, in the Wellington Land District, over the Mangatainoka River, on the Pahiatua Station Road Main Highway, known as the Maingatainoka River Bridge (together with the protection-works within a distance of 50 chains above and 10 chains below the said bridge). As the site of the said bridge is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 72633, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of February, 1942.

Declaring Crown Land in Taranaki Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as the “said land”) is Crown land not acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, but is adjacent to certain lands acquired under the said Act and known as the Huinga Settlement, and can conveniently be disposed of therewith:
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and five of the said Act, and on the recommendation of the Land Settlement Board, and after considering the report of the Taranaki District Land Board, do hereby declare the said land to be subject to the said Act, to the intent that it shall hereupon be deemed to be portion of the said Huinga Settlement and may be disposed of accordingly.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 19, Block IV, Ngaere Survey District: Area, 3 acres 0 roods 7 perches.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the lands in the Wellington and Southland Land Districts described in the Schedule hereunder written for the purposes specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area in City of Wellington containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 20·46 perches, more or less, being Section 434 and parts of Sections 432, 433, and 435, Town of Wellington: Bounded, commencing at the northernmost corner of Lot 1 on D.P. 2438, along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 on D.P. 2438, Lot 4, part Lot 5, and part Lot 2 on D.P. 4938, all being portions of Section 431, Town of Wellington, for a total distance of 419·67 links; thence along right lines bearing 23° 51′ distance 133·22 links, bearing 340° 16′ 20″ distance 77·62 links, bearing 43° 01′ 40″ distance 203·42 links, bearing 180° 23′ 20″ distance 63·24 links bearing 190° 34′ 20″ distance 88·24 links, bearing 184° 04′ 50″ distance 38·79 links, and bearing 112° 59′ distance 5·31 links to the north-western side of The Terrace; thence along the north-western side of The Terrace for a distance of 401·22 links, 12·12 links, and 189·78 links to the southernmost corner of part Section 435 described in section 4, subsection (1) of Wellington City Empowering Act, 1931; thence along the south-western boundary of part Section 435 aforesaid to the south-eastern boundary of part Town Belt shown in D.P. 10182; and thence along the south-eastern boundary of part Town Belt, bearing 202° 56′ 40″ distance 790·55 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid admeasurements a little more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 6/6/757A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 24·7 perches, more or less, being part Section 29, Block I, Invercargill Hundred, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-west corner of Lot 20, D.P. 1244, Block I, Township of Wellesley; thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 20 and Hawke Street, 333·8 links; thence in a north-westerly direction along a railway reserve, 74·19 links and 283·8 links, to the south-western end of Philip Street; thence in a south-easterly direction along the southern end of the said Philip Street, 50·23 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/2695A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue. (Drainage purposes.)
