Authority to Convene Courts Martial and to Confirm the Findings
and Sentences thereof and to Delegate such Authority.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of the Defence Amendment Act, 1912, I,
Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give a general authority
to the undermentioned officer to convene General or District
Courts Martial for the trial of such persons subject to military
law as are for the time being under or within the territorial
limits of his command and to confirm the findings and
sentences thereof, and do hereby empower such officer to
delegate to any officer under his command not below the
degree of field officer this general authority to convene such
General or District Courts Martial :-
Brigadier (temporary Major-General) William Henry
Cunningham, C.B.E., D.S.O., V.D., General Officer
Commanding in Fiji.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 29th day of January, 1942.

PURSUANT to the authority vested in me by section
sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and by an
Order in Council of the twenty-first day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and sixteen, providing for the constitution of Island Councils in the Cook Islands, I, Cyril Louis
Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby nominate and appoint
Moana
to be a member of the Island Council of Niue, to hold office
during my pleasure as from the eighth day of November,
one thousand nine hundred and forty-one, vice Veli, deceased.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, this 3rd day
of February, 1942.

General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the
Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and
Documents Act, 1919, appointed
Edward Ernest Strawbridge, of Wanganui,
to be an Inspector of Sea-fishing for the purposes of Part I
of the first-mentioned Act.

to act as Consul-General of the Czechoslovakia Republic at
