HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Vera Wood

to be a Probation Officer under the Offenders Probation Act, 1920, for the City of Auckland, the boroughs of Birkenhead, Devonport, Ellerslie, Mount Albert, Mount Eden, New Lynn, Newmarket, Northcote, Onehunga, One Tree Hill, and Takapuna, and the Road District of Mount Roskill, vice Maud Hoare.

The Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939.—Appointment of Emergency Disputes Committee.

IN the matter of a dispute between the New Zealand Harbour Boards’ Employees’ Industrial Union of Workers and the New Zealand Harbour Boards’ Industrial Union of Employers in connection with conditions of employment of crane-drivers :

In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939, the Minister of Labour doth hereby appoint the following persons to be an Emergency Disputes Committee for the purpose of deciding such dispute, and doth refer such dispute to such Committee accordingly :—

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officers, at the addresses set against their names, are hereby appointed transmitting and receiving officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid:—

The Holidays Labour Legislation Modification Order 1941, Variation No. 12.

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows :—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Holidays Labour Legislation Modification Order 1941, Variation No. 12.

  2. This Order shall be read together with and deemed part of the Holidays Labour Legislation Modification Order 1941 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).

  3. The principal Order is varied as follows, namely :—

The provisions of the principal Order shall not apply to workers coming within the scope of the Northern and Wellington Industrial Districts Cardboard-box, Carton, and Paper-bag Makers’ award dated the 18th day of November, 1938, and recorded in 38 Book of Awards 3325, or the Canterbury Cardboard-box, Carton, and Paper-bag Makers’ award dated the 30th day of May, 1939, and recorded in 39 Book of Awards 532.

  1. This Order shall come into effect on the day of the date hereof.

Dated at Wellington, this 14th day of December, 1942.

The Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 20.

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows :—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 20.

  2. This Order shall be read together with and deemed part of the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).

  3. The principal Order is varied as follows, namely :—

The provisions of the principal Order shall not apply to the workers coming within the scope of the Northern Industrial District Laundry Workers, Dyers, and Dry-cleaners’ award dated the 19th day of September, 1941, and recorded in 41 Book of Awards 1290, who are employed in the Auckland Hospital Board’s laundry.

  1. This Order shall come into effect on the day of the date hereof.

Dated at Wellington, this 14th day of December, 1942.
