Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of St. Barnabas Extension No. 11, affecting parts of Rural Section 94, situated in Block X, Christchurch Survey District, Canterbury Land District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that Karo Street shown thereon should be of the width of 66 ft.:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby authorize the laying-off of Karo Street of a width not less than 40 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such street.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 22nd day of January, 1942.

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby authorize the laying-off of the said Exton Road of a width not less than 50 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 22nd day of January, 1942.

Land vested in the Timaru Borough Council declared to be a Public Reserve.

Wellington, 23rd January, 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following resolution was passed by the Timaru Borough Council pursuant to section 5 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, on the 15th day of December, 1941, due notice of intention to pass such resolution having been given in terms of the said section, and no objection thereto received:—

“In pursuance of section 5 of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, the Timaru Borough Council doth hereby resolve that all that area of land in the Canterbury Land District now vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Timaru, containing 24 perches, more or less, being Reserve 4445 (formerly part Lot 4, D.P. 1490), situated in the Borough of Timaru, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-west by Lots 1, 2, and 3, D.P. 1490, 251·6 links; towards the north-east by Lot 1, D.P. 3147, and Lot 165, D.P. 1, 60 links; towards the south-east by other part of Lot 4, D.P. 1490, 251·6 links; and towards the south-west by Later Street, 60 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 53727/8, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red: be and the said Council doth hereby declare the said land to be a public reserve for municipal purposes within the meaning of the above-mentioned Act.”
