Declaring Lake Mangamate, in the Auckland Acclimatization District, to be a Sanctuary under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by section 6 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare the areas described in the Schedule hereto to be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Franklin County of approximately 100 acres, being the Crown land known as Mangamate Lake, abutted by the subdivisions of Allotment 115, Mangatawhiri Parish, and situated in Block XIV, Opaheke Survey District, bounded as follows: Towards the west generally by Lots 2 and 6, D.P. 24004; towards the north generally by the lands comprised and described in Certificates of Title, Volume 574, folio 4, and Volume 544, folio 215, Auckland Registry, and towards the east and south by Lot 1, D.P. 23338, the aforesaid lots and titles being portions of Allotment 115, Mangatawhiri Parish. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked I.A. 52/91, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Internal Affairs at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 22nd day of January, 1942.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the Native Land Act, 1931, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do by this license issued under my hand, and terminable at any time on revocation, authorize—

Neho Hemi Papakura,

of New Plymouth, to act as an Interpreter of the First Grade under the provisions of the said Act and the regulations thereunder.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 21st day of January, 1942.
