Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Matira Public Hall Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of January, 1942.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was by Warrant published in the Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, permanently reserved for a site for a public hall: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act) in the undermentioned persons, namely:—
Oswald Marsh,
Daniel Hart,
William Richard Dimmock,
Thomas Edwardes Eyre,
Harry Snodgrass,
Frederick George Scott, and
Francis Roy Manson,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Matira Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the last Thursday in each month, at eight o’clock p.m., at the Matira Public Hall, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Thursday, the 29th day of January, 1942.

The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of any such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.

If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the 31st day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Matira and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to time be determined by the Board; provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.

Cancelling the Reservation over a Reserve in Town of Ohura, Taranaki Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 28th day of January, 1942.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby cancel the reservation for public buildings of the General Government over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint
William Max,
John Reginald Grigg,
Willoughby Drummond Rawlinson,
Bernard Leslie Walker,
Neil Reigh Kearns,
Charles Vincent Higgins, and
Robert William Hooper
to be the Brightwater Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Public Hall, Brightwater, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—BRIGHTWATER DOMAIN.
ALL that area containing by estimation 6 acres 3 roods 35 perches, more or less, being part of Section 18 of Waimea South Original District, and situated in Block IX, Waimea Survey District: Bounded towards the north-west by a road, 165 links; towards the north-east by a part of the before-mentioned Section 18, 1276·6 links (or thereabouts); towards the south-east by a right-of-way and other parts of the said Section 18; towards the south by a line 100 links distant from and parallel to the railway reserve; towards the south-west by another part of the said Section 18; and again towards the north-west and south-west by parts of the said Section 18, 541 links and 377·2 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/471, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Also all that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 35 perches, more or less, being part of Section 18, District of Waimea South, Block IX, Waimea Survey District: Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, 720·2 links; towards the south-east, south-west, and north-west by other parts of Section 18 aforesaid, 274 links, 721·4 links, and 271·6 links respectively. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 1/471B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (S.O. plan 9180.)
