Notice of Intention to take Land for Public Works.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute certain public works, and
for the purposes of such public works the land described in the First and Second Schedules hereto is required to be taken: And
notice is hereby further given that the respective plans of the land required to be taken are deposited in the post-offices as set out in such
Schedules, and are there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of such works, or by the taking of the said
land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such land, set forth the same
in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the 30th day of November, 1942, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Declaring a Place to be a Prohibited Place under the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.
PURSUANT to the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941, the Minister of Defence doth hereby declare the places specified in the Schedule hereto to be prohibited places for the purposes of the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.
SCHEDULE.
AREA AT BEACON HILL,
ALL that area in City of Wellington, being parts of Sections 12 and 17, Watts Peninsula District: Bounded, commencing at a point on the eastern side of Beacon Road at the south-western corner of Lot 14 on Survey Office Plan 20340, in an easterly and north-easterly direction generally along the southern and south-eastern boundaries of that lot and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 2518; thence south-easterly along a right line to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 1 aforesaid, and along the south-western boundaries of part Lot 2 on Deposited Plan 2518, Lots 1 and 2 on Deposited Plan 8749, and another part of Lot 2 on Deposited Plan 2518; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned part Lot 2 to Inglis Street; thence southerly and south-westerly and westerly along the western side of Inglis Street and the north-western and northern side of Breaker Bay Road to the easternmost corner of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 6566; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of that lot to its northernmost corner; thence again north-westerly along a right line to the southernmost corner of Lot 479 on Deposited Plan 9281; thence north-easterly, northerly, and north-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 479 to 490 inclusive, the eastern boundaries of Lots 490 to 495 inclusive, and the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 495 to 498 inclusive, all on Deposited Plan 9281, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence north-easterly along a right line to the southernmost corner of Lot 510 on Deposited Plan 9281, along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 510 to 520 inclusive, Lots 527 to 529 inclusive, all on Deposited Plan 9281, and along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 63, on Deposited Plan 9280, to the western side of Beacon Road; and thence along a right line across Beacon Road to the south-western corner of Lot 14 on Survey Office Plan 20340, the point of commencement: Excepting therefrom a quarry adjacent to Breaker Bay Road and the buildings appurtenant thereto; also excepting the area known as Beacon Hill Signal Station, declared a prohibited place by notice published in New Zealand Gazette, 1941, page 2104. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Army P.P. 59, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
DEFENCE AREA AT WANGANUI.
Harbour Board Endowment Block "J" and Crown land (recreation reserve), left bank Wanganui River, Block IX, Ikitara Survey District, and the foreshores adjoining the above-described lands between high- and low-water marks, and the legal roads traversing the area herein described. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked Army P.P. 60, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
AREA AT BLUFF HILL, NAPIER.
All that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, being parts of Suburban Sections 100, 71, and 72, Napier, and being also Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, D.P. 6634, Lot 1, D.P. 6624, and part of Lot 3, D.P. 4762, situated in the Borough of Napier, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the north-western side of Breakwater Road, the said point being the southernmost corner of Lot 6, D.P. 6634; thence north-westerly generally along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 6 to the easternmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 6634; thence south-westerly and then north-westerly generally along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries respectively of the said Lot 2 to the easternmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 6624; thence south-westerly and then north-westerly along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries respectively of the said Lot 1 to its westernmost corner; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 4672, to the south-western side of Lighthouse Road; thence north-westerly by a right line through Lot 3, D.P. 4672, to a point on the south-western boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 6634, 400·76 links distant, in a south-easterly direction from the northernmost corner of Lot 3, D.P. 4672; thence north-westerly generally along the south-western boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 6634, to the westernmost corner of that lot; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of the said Lot 5 and Lot 6, D.P. 6634, to the south-eastern side of Breakwater Road; thence south-easterly generally along the south-eastern, south-western, and north-western sides of that road to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 61, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
