Member of Rarotonga Island Council appointed.

PURSUANT to section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby appoint

Maitoe Raina, of Rarotonga,

to be a member of the Island Council of Rarotonga during his pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu of Tangiia Paroro (deceased).

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of November, 1941.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Thomas Charles Douglas, being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of clerk in the Official Assignee’s Office at Auckland, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 14th day of November, 1941.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Appointment of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of an Armed Forces Appeal Board.

National Service Department,
Wellington, 14th November, 1941.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, has been pleased to appoint Martin Maxwell Fleming Luckie, of Wellington, Barrister, to be the Chairman of No. 4 Armed Forces Appeal Board with headquarters at Wellington, in lieu of Wilfred Fosberrey Stilwell, of Wellington, Stipendiary Magistrate, and to appoint the said Wilfred Fosberrey Stilwell to be the Deputy Chairman of the said Board in lieu of Hugh Butler Lusk, of Napier, Barrister; the said Martin Maxwell Fleming Luckie and Wilfred Fosberrey Stilwell to hold and exercise the duties of office during pleasure.
