Constable David Sterritt
to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Kaikoura for the purpose of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928; and Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court at Kaikoura for the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926, on and from the 18th day of September, 1941.

Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the Service of Notices by Telegraph.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officer, at the address set against his name, is hereby appointed transmitting and receiving officer for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid:—

New Zealand Schools of Mines.—Amending Rules governing Scholarship Examinations.
Mines Department,
Wellington, 1st August, 1941.
CLAUSE 2 of the rules governing Scholarship Examinations of New Zealand Schools of Mines, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 54 of the 26th June, 1941, at page 2032, is revoked and the following substituted:—
“2. The scholarships will be tenable for four years at the University of Otago and will be of an annual value of £65 each to successful candidates who, while attending the classes at the University of Otago, have to reside away from their homes, and of £45 each to successful candidates who are able to reside at their homes while attending the University classes.”

Administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, in the Waipawa County.—(Notice No. Ag. 3881.)

THE following resolution passed by the Waipawa County Council on the 12th day of August, 1941, is published in accordance with the provisions of subsection (2) of section 7 of the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1934.

RESOLUTION.
“THAT, in accordance with the provisions of section 7 (1) of the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1934, the Waipawa County Council assumes responsibility for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, and its respective amendments, within the County of Waipawa from the 1st day of September, 1941.”
Fixing the Prices for the Sale of Whey Butter Wholesale in New Zealand.
PURSUANT to the Primary Products Marketing Act, 1936, and the Butter Marketing Regulations 1937, notice is hereby given for public information that on and after the 1st day of October, 1941, all whey butter sold or intended for sale by wholesale in New Zealand shall be sold in accordance with the provisions of the notice dated 1st December, 1938, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 85, page 2475, amended by cancelling clause 3 (c) and substituting the following:—
“In the case of whey butter the standard quality of which is not lower than second grade, the price of thirteen pence and one halfpenny per pound.”

Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area.
PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, I, James Gillispie Barclay, Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare such area of land, defined as aforesaid, to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area for the purposes of the said regulations under the name set out in the said Schedule; and I do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect on the 9th day of October, 1941.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTH CANTERBURY BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.
ALL that area of land situated within the Geraldine and Levels Counties, and bounded by a line commencing at the point where the Old Main Road meets the Rangitata River; thence following the said road into Lloyds Road and Kempster’s Road in a south-westerly direction to a point where Kempster’s Road joins McKay’s Road; thence following McKay’s Road and Bird’s Road to a point where Bird’s Road joins Baird’s Road; thence from this point in a south-westerly direction along Riby’s Road to a point where it joins the Waihi Gorge Road; thence following the Waihi Gorge Road to a point where it joins Bogg’s Road; thence following Bogg’s Road in a south-westerly direction to a point where it joins Dawes’ Road; thence following the said road into Rhubarb Road; thence into Fenn’s Road, Slack’s Road, Love’s Road, Gapes Valley Road, and Jones Gully Road to a point where Jones Gully Road meets the Opihi River; thence following the said river in a south-easterly direction to a point opposite Level’s Plains Middle Road; thence following the said road in a south-westerly direction to a point where it meets the Albury Branch Railway-line; thence from this point taking a straight line in a south-easterly direction to Dashing Rocks on the sea-coast; thence following the sea-coast in a north-easterly direction to the Rangitata River; thence following the said river in a north-westerly direction to a point opposite the Old Main Road, being the original point of commencement; farms on both sides of the boundary roads mentioned to be deemed to be included in the area.
