Establishment of Additional Armed Forces Appeal Boards.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, has been pleased to direct the establishment of the following additional Armed Forces Appeal Boards, namely :—

No. 1A Armed Forces Appeal Board, with headquarters at Whangarei ; and to appoint as the members thereof—
George Paton Finlay, Barrister (to be Chairman),
Norman Horrobin, and
Arthur Joseph Magee ;

and to appoint as a deputy member thereof
Herbert Elvin Hewlett.

No. 4A Armed Forces Appeal Board, with headquarters at Napier ; and to appoint as the members thereof—
Hugh Butler Lusk, Barrister (to be Chairman),
Frank Robert Field, and
William Hamilton Barry ;

and to appoint as the deputy members thereof

Robert N. Cook.

Declaring Places to be Prohibited Places under the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.

PURSUANT to the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941, the Minister of Defence doth hereby declare the places specified in the Schedule hereto to be prohibited places for the purposes of the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.

SCHEDULE.

HORAHORA POWER-STATION.

PART of the land contained in C.T. 163/74, being part Lot 47 on D.P. 3078, being part Waipa Block, situated in Block IV, Maungatautari Survey District. All in the Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 40, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

POWER-STATION, KING’S WHARF, AUCKLAND.

All that area of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods 24 perches, being portion of the land in the Auckland Harbour reclaimed from the sea and contained in C.T. 391/226 (City of Auckland), situated in Block VIII, Rangitoto Survey District. All in the North Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 41, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

PENROSE RIFLE RANGE.

All that area of land containing by admeasurement 100 acres, being part Allotments 5 and 6 of Section 17, Suburbs of Auckland, situated in Blocks I, V, and VI, Otahuhu Survey District (S.O. 12369). All in the North Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 42, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

DEFENCE AREA AT MARAETAI.

All that area of land containing approximately 41 acres, being part Waiomanu Block (D.P. 24411), situated in Block II, Wairoa Survey District. All in the North Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 43, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

DEFENCE AREA AT MOUNT EDEN.

All that area of land containing approximately 21 acres 2 roods, being parts Lots 105, 106, 107, 108, and 109 of Section 6, Suburbs of Auckland (S.O. 19279) (City of Auckland), situated in Blocks VIII, Rangitoto, and XVI, Waitemata Survey Districts. All in the North Auckland Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 44, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Southland) Order 1940, Amendment No. 1.

PURSUANT to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency Regulations 1940 (No. 2), and pursuant to a requisition in writing received in that behalf, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct as follows :—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Southland) Order 1940, Amendment No. 1.

  2. This Order shall come into force on the 6th day of October, 1941.

  3. The Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Southland) Order 1940 is hereby amended by deleting clause 5 thereof and substituting the following :—

“5. In every successive week the undermentioned establishments shall in weekly rotation in the order named be exempt from the provisions of this Order :—

Order of Rotation. Name of Establishment.
First week Mumford’s Service Station, Dee Street, Invercargill.
Second week King’s Hall Garage, Clyde Street, Invercargill.
Third week Gladstone Service Station, Dee Street, Invercargill.
Fourth week Ellis McGill, Ltd., Tay Street, Invercargill.
Fifth week R. H. Frost, Spey Street, Invercargill.
Sixth week Tay Street Service Station, Tay Street, Invercargill.
Seventh week Mason’s Service Station, Dee Street, Invercargill.
Eighth week “Everedi” Service Station, St. Andrew Street, Invercargill.
Ninth week Eardly Bell, Kelvin Street, Invercargill.
Tenth week East Road Service Station, East Road, Invercargill.
Eleventh week M. O’Neill, Elles Road South, Invercargill.
Twelfth week Ferguson’s Service Station, Elles Road South, Invercargill.

The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice fixing Prices of certain Grades.

Wellington, 22nd September, 1941.

PURSUANT to Regulation 5 : 1 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons of fancy grade and commercial grade respectively delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

The prices are fixed on an average basic price of 6s. 4½d. for sufficient fruit which when cured will pack a bushel case.

Period of delivery (both days inclusive) : 1st September to 31st October, 1941—
