Probationary Sub-Lieutenant William Robinson Gower Reid appointed H.M.S. “Matai” additional, for H.M.S. “Rata” as A/S Control Officer, vice Bell, to date 28th September, 1941.
Probationary Sub-Lieutenant Raymond Ellsmore Pugh-Williams confirmed in rank with original seniority of 13th July, 1940.
Paymaster Lieutenant-Commander George Howard Norman appointed H.M.S. “Philomel II” additional, for duty in Navy Office, Wellington, as Assistant to the Staff Officer (Operations), to date 1st September, 1941. (Serving under special conditions.)
Paymaster Lieutenant Frank Leslie Rees granted the status of “Qualified Officer,” to date 20th August, 1941.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, and transfers of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :-
N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.
Lieutenant-Colonel H. C. Wilding, D.S.O., E.D., relinquishes the temporary appointment of Commander, Royal N.Z. Artillery, and is appointed Fire Commander and Officer Commanding, 10th Heavy Regiment, N.Z. Artillery. Dated 27th August, 1941.
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) J. P. E. Veale, V.D., relinquishes the appointment of Fire Commander and Officer Commanding, 10th Heavy Regiment, N.Z. Artillery, and the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, and is appointed Deputy Fire Commander and second in command, 10th Heavy Regiment, N.Z. Artillery. Dated 27th August, 1941.
Captain A. G. Melles, M.C., N.Z. Dental Corps, Senior Dental Officer, Royal N.Z. Air Force Training Depot, Levin, is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 1st September, 1941.
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 73, dated 4th September, 1941, relative to the appointment of Lieutenant W. A. S. de C. Mills, for “Dated 8th August, 1941,” substitute “Dated 3rd September, 1941.”
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 74, dated 11th September, 1941, relative to the appointment of 2nd Lieutenant M. F. Miles, Retired List, for “Dated 29th August, 1941,” substitute “Dated 23rd August, 1941.”
Lieutenant E. J. Cornes, B.Sc., 1st Signals Company, N.Z. Corps of Signals, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Signals), Headquarters, Northern Military District. Dated 5th September, 1941.

Captain (temp. Major) C. A. Williamson relinquishes the appointment of Deputy Fire Commander and second in command, 10th Heavy Regiment, N.Z.A. Dated 27th August, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) H. G. Nathan, from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), with seniority from 8th April, 1941, and is posted to the 1st Battery, 1st Field Regiment. Dated 2nd September, 1941.

THE NEW ZEALAND SCOTTISH REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant J. B. Bayley, 2nd Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List. Dated 5th September, 1941.
N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS.
2nd Lieutenant R. C. Jamieson, Retired List, to be Lieutenant (temp.), with seniority from 1st March, 1941, is posted to the 3rd Composite Company, and is seconded for duty as Supply and Transport Officer, Southern Field Force. Dated 9th September, 1941.
William Raymond Sutherland to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 2nd Composite Company. Dated 1st September, 1941.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Lieutenant A. M. Gunn, M.B., Ch.B., is granted the temporary rank of Captain and remains seconded to the Royal N.Z. Air Force. Dated 13th August, 1941.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) A. B. Williams, D.S.O., Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, Commander, Royal N.Z. Artillery, proceeded to Canada and United States of America on the 17th May, 1941, and returned to New Zealand on the 1st August, 1941.
