Appointment of Members of the Electric Range Plan Industrial Committee under the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

WHEREAS a plan for the organization of the electric-range-manufacturing industry referred to in a notice given by me pursuant to section 14 of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, on the 4th day of December, 1936, and published in the Gazette on the 10th day of December, 1936, has been approved in accordance with section 9 of the aforesaid Act :

Now, therefore, I, Daniel Giles Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce, acting in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the said Act, and being of the opinion that the appointment is desirable of a special committee to assist in carrying out the provisions of the said plan, do hereby appoint a committee to be known as the Electric Range Plan Industrial Committee, and having given public notice in the Gazette on the 14th day of August, 1941, of my intention to appoint members of such a committee pursuant to the Industrial Efficiency (Electric Range) Regulations 1941, and therein having called upon licensees to submit to me the names of persons to be appointed, do hereby appoint the following persons to be members thereof:—

Adam Black, Secretary, Allied Metal Trades’ Union, Trades Hall, Wellington.

William Richard Brinsley, Managing Director, Radiation (New Zealand), Ltd., Dunedin.

Stanley John Collins, Investigating Officer, Department of Industries and Commerce, Wellington.

Eric Hutchison, Supply Engineer to the Auckland Electric-power Board, Auckland.

Cecil Scott Peate, General Manager, Scott Brothers, Ltd., Christchurch.

Benjamin George Claude Stevens, General Manager, Turnbull and Jones, Ltd., Wellington.

William John Truscott, General Manager, Radio (1936), Ltd., Auckland.

to be Chairman of No. 3 Armed Forces Appeal Board, in lieu of Alfred Coleman, Stipendiary Magistrate ; such person to hold office during pleasure.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Appointment of Members of Special Tribunal.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, has been pleased to appoint

Alexander Howat Johnstone, of Auckland, King’s Counsel,
Humphrey Francis O’Leary, of Wellington, King’s Counsel,
Arthur Telford Donnelly, of Christchurch, Barrister,

to be members of the Special Tribunal established under the said regulations, such persons respectively to hold office during pleasure.

to be an Inspector, and

Senior Sergeant James Francis Henry Macnamara

to be a Sub-Inspector in the New Zealand Police Force, the appointment in each case to take effect on and from 1st September, 1941.

Lieutenant Alfred James Harvey, M.B.E., R.N., appointed H.M.S. “Philomel” additional, on relief, for passage to the United Kingdom. (Date to be reported.)

Mr. Stanley George Papworth, Temporary Acting Gunner, R.N., lent New Zealand Naval Forces, to date 24th May, 1941, appointed H.M.S. “Philomel” additional, to date 11th August, 1941, and appointed H.M.S. “Leander,” vice Harvey. (Date to be reported.)

Mr. John Edward Holt, Schoolmaster, R.N., appointed H.M.S. “Philomel” additional, on relief, for passage to the United Kingdom. (Date to be reported.)

Mr. Ronald Barclay Waddell, R.So., Probationary Temporary Schoolmaster, appointed H.M.S. “Tamaki,” vice Holt. (Date to be reported.)

George Lyal Banfield, Leading Wireless Mechanic, N.Z.D. 2131, promoted to the rank of Probationary Temporary Sub-Lieutenant (R.D.F.), Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand), with seniority of 11th August, 1941, and appointed H.M.S. “Philomel II” additional, for training, to date 15th September, 1941.

Gordon Ellis Bisson, Leading Wireless Mechanic, N.Z.D. 2129, promoted to the rank of Probationary Temporary Sub-Lieutenant (R.D.F.), Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand), with seniority of 11th August, 1941, and appointed H.M.S. “Philomel II” additional, for training, to date 15th September, 1941.
