thence by the southern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 2597 and the eastern boundaries of Sections 2596 and 2595, Block II, Punakaiki Survey District, to the Porarari River; thence easterly, northerly, and southerly along the boundary between the Nelson and Westland Land Districts to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 1, Block XIII, Maimai Survey District; thence to and along the northern and western boundaries of the said Section 1 to the point of commencement: Save and excepting therefrom Sections 4 and 3, Block XV, Waiwhero Survey District, Reserve 1041, Block XI, Waiwhero Survey District, Reserve 1010, Block II,
Te Miko Survey District, and the road reserve approaching thereto. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 119/40, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 17th day of September, 1941.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS by section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on petition in that behalf signed by a majority of the persons qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for any proposed district, constitute and declare any area of land of not less than one thousand acres a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act:
And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section thirty of the said Act, a petition has been received praying that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto be constituted and declared a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners accordingly:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific name of the “East Road - Maka-rewa Rabbit District” and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purpose of Part II of the said Act, and doth hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.
SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE EAST ROAD - MAKAREWA RABBIT DISTRICT.
All that area in the Southland Land District containing by approximation 34,000 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waihopai River, the said point being the south-eastern corner of Section 8, Block IV, Invercargill Hundred; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the said Section 8, across a public road, and along another public road forming the eastern boundary of Section 19, Block IV, Invercargill Hundred, to and across Myross Bush Road; thence in a westerly direction along the said Myross Bush Road to the south-eastern corner of Section 30, Block IV, Invercargill Hundred; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the said Section 30 to the north-eastern corner thereof; thence in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of Section 33, Block IX, Invercargill Hundred, to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundary of the said Section 33, across a public road, and along another public road forming the eastern boundary of Section 45, Block IX, Invercargill Hundred, to Pomona Road, Town of Makarewa; thence in an easterly direction along the said Pomona Road to the eastern side of Helena Road, Town of Makarewa; thence in a northerly direction along the said Helena Road to a point in line with the northern side of Orion Road, Town of Makarewa; thence in a westerly direction to and along the said Orion Road to Main North Road; thence in a northerly direction along Main North Road to a point in line with the northern side of the public road along the northern boundary of Section 26, Block XIII, Invercargill Hundred; thence in a westerly direction to and along the said public road to the Invercargill-Kingston Railway Reserve; thence in a north-westerly direction along the said Invercargill-Kingston Railway Reserve to the left bank of the Makarewa River; thence in a north-easterly direction generally along the left bank of the said Makarewa River to its confluence with the Hedgehope Stream; thence in an easterly direction generally along the left bank of the said Hedgehope Stream to its confluence with the Titipua
