WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC
WORKS ACT.
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,
and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Whangarei Borough
Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-
mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely,
the widening of Percy Street and Kamo Road, in the
Borough of Whangarei—and for the purposes of such
public works the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given
that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited
in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council,
situated in Bank Street, and is open for inspection (without
fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
works or by the taking of such land who have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said land must state their objections
in writing, and send the same, within forty days of the first
publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council
Chambers, Bank Street,
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of each of the parcels of land required to
be taken : 0·42 perches.
Being part Allotment 2, Parish of Whangarei.
Situated in Block XII, Purua Survey District, Registration
District of Auckland, Borough of Whangarei, and coloured
red on S.O. plan 32239.

THE MIDLAND FURNISHING COMPANY, LIMITED.
IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 222 of
the Companies Act, 1933, that at a meeting of share-
holders of the above company held on 5th September, 1941,
a resolution was passed to wind up the company and appoint
JOHN CHILDERS SAUNDERS liquidator.
This resolution and the appointment of liquidator were,
pursuant to section 235 of the Companies Act, 1933, confirmed
at a meeting of the creditors of the company held on the
5th September, 1941.
All persons having claims against the company are requested
to render accounts with full particulars not later than

of the above Act, notice is hereby given that a meeting
of the above company will be held at the office of the company,
Wanaka, on Tuesday, the 8th day of October, 1941, at 2 p.m.,
for the purpose of laying before the meeting the liquidator’s
account of the winding up.

September, 1941, the following special resolution was
passed :—
“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that

be and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.”

OHAKUNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Ohakune
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, principal, and other charges on a loan of three
thousand nine hundred pounds (£3,900), authorized to be
raised by the Ohakune Borough Council for the purpose of
erecting four dwellinghouses, the Ohakune Borough Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of fourpence one-
farthing (4¼d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on basis
of the unimproved value) on all rateable property in the
Borough of Ohakune ; and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and
shall be payable on the 1st day of September in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of, and a
correct extract from, the minutes of the Ohakune Borough
Council at a meeting held on the 14th day of November,
1940.
