Annoyance Bank Beacon.—Alteration in Light.
Position: Lat., 35° 47′6 S.; long., 174° 24′9 E. (approx.).
Alteration: The light has been altered from flashing every 10 seconds to flashing every 5 seconds, thus—flash 0·3 seconds, eclipse 4·7 seconds.
Chart affected: No. 2047.

Firelight Committee Elections under the Firelight Committee Regulations 1928.—Declaration of Election of Members of the Firelight Committee of the South Auckland Commercial Fruitgrowing District.
I, CHARLES EDWARD ROBERTS, Returning Officer for the purpose of the Firelight Committee Elections under the Firelight Committee Regulations 1928, do hereby declare that the following candidates have been duly nominated for the election of members of the Firelight Committee of the South Auckland Commercial Fruitgrowing District, nominations for which closed at Wellington at noon on the 16th day of September, 1941:—
Hartland, John Reginald.
Masson, Henry John.
Symes, Francis Thomas.
Watt, Richard.
Wild, Thomas.
As the number of candidates nominated does not exceed the number of members to be elected (5), I hereby declare the said John Reginald Hartland, Henry John Masson, Francis Thomas Symes, Richard Watt, and Thomas Wild to be duly elected.

Price Order No. 50.
I, IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon the Price Tribunal by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, and with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following Price Order:—
- This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 50.
- The maximum price at which candles made by the United Candle and Soap Co., Ltd., the Zealandia Candle Co., Ltd., McLeod Bros., Ltd., or the New Zealand Candle Co., Ltd., may be sold by way of retail at any place in New Zealand where a wholesale general merchant is situated shall be not more than 1s. 2d. per one pound packet of six candles.
- At any other place in New Zealand there may be added to the price fixed in the preceding clause the actual or proportionate amount of extra freight from the nearest wholesale general merchant’s store to place of sale (calculated to the next highest halfpenny): Provided, however, that the amount so added shall not exceed one halfpenny per one pound packet of six candles.
- The maximum price at which such candles may be sold at any place in New Zealand by way of retail when sold in less than one pound packet lots shall be not more than 2½d. per candle.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Education Reserve in Taranaki Land District for Lease by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 16th September, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Monday, 3rd November, 1941, at 10 o’clock a.m., under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVES.—PRIMARY-CLASS LAND.
Hawera County.—Ohawe Town Belt.
SUBDIVISIONS of Section 1, Ohawe Town Belt—
Subdivision 13: Area, 1 rood 4·8 perches. Upset annual rent, £1.
Subdivision 14: Area, 1 rood 0·6 perches. Upset annual rent, £1.
Subdivision 15: Area, 37·9 perches. Upset annual rent, £1.
Subdivision 27: Area, 1 rood 7·6 perches. Upset annual rent, £1.
Subdivision 28: Area, 1 rood 8·9 perches. Upset annual rent, £1.
These sections are situated about five miles and a half from the Hawera Post-office by good road, and comprise for the most part level land. The sections are suitable for sites for the erection of beach cottages.
Abstract of Terms and Conditions of Lease.
- A half-year’s rent at rate offered, and lease and registration fees (£2 2s.) to be paid on fall of hammer.
- Term of lease is twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for successive terms of twenty-one years at rents based on fresh valuations under the provisions of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.
- No compensation for improvements, but if lease is not renewed upon expiration or if it is sooner determined, the new lease offered for disposal will be subject to payment by the incoming tenant of valuation for improvements effected by the original lessee with the consent of the Land Board, and the amount so paid by the incoming tenant shall be paid to the original lessee without any deduction except for rent or other payments in arrear.
- No transfer, mortgage, sublease, or subdivision allowed without consent.
- Lessee to maintain in good substantial repair all improvements, to trim all live hedges, and to yield up all improvements in good order and condition at the expiration of the lease.
- Rent payable half-yearly in advance, subject to penalty at the rate of 10 per cent. per annum for any period during which it remains in arrear.
- Lessee will not carry on any offensive trade.
- Lessee to give notice to Land Board before making improvements.
- Lessee to pay all rates, taxes, and assessments.
- Lease is liable to termination if conditions are violated.
Form of lease may be perused and any further particulars required may be obtained at the office of the undersigned.

Town Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 16th September, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to noon on Tuesday, 28th October, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, 29th October, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Borough of Ohakune.—Ohakune Village Settlement.—Block V, Karioi Survey District.
ALLOTMENTS 9 and 10; Block XIX: Area, 2 roods. Capital value, £30; half-yearly rent, 15s.
Weighted with £16 5s. (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising fencing, stumping, and grassing.
This is a good level building section situated about one mile from the Ohakune Post-office.
