Appointment of Munitions Controller.
IN exercise of all the powers and authorities conferred by the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939, and the Munitions Emergency Regulations 1941, I, Daniel Giles Sullivan, Minister of Supply and Munitions for the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Squadron Leader George Carter, R.N.Z.A.F.,
to be Munitions Controller for the purpose of the Munitions Emergency Regulations 1941.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Appointment of Deputy Chairman of Armed Forces Appeal Board.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, has been pleased to appoint Hugh Butler Lusk, Esquire, Barrister and Solicitor, of Napier, to be the Deputy Chairman of No. 4 Armed Forces Appeal Board to act in the absence of Wilfred Fosberrey Stilwell, Esquire, Stipendiary Magistrate, the Chairman of the said Board; the said Hugh Butler Lusk to hold and exercise the duties of office during pleasure.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.
Major-General Sir Andrew H. Russell, K.C.B., K.C.M.G., resigns his appointment as Inspector-General, New Zealand Military Forces, and is reposted to the Retired List. Dated 31st July, 1941.
Lieutenant-Colonel F. K. Turnbull, D.S.O., M.C., is appointed Camp Commandant, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, vice Lieutenant-Colonel C. S. White, V.D. Dated 29th August, 1941.
Major R. B. Ashe, M.C., V.D., Chief Signals Officer, Army Headquarters, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 1st September, 1941.
Lieutenant E. B. Davison, 3rd Battalion, National Military Reserve, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Transport Officer, Waiouru Military Camp. Dated 3rd February, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant P. Foxley, Assistant Instructor, Army Service Corps, Army School of Instruction, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 1st September, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant J. C. R. Spelman, Officer in Charge, Sick and Wounded Records, Area No. 5, Wellington, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant while so employed. Dated 2nd September, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant F. W. E. Deverell ceases to be attached to Headquarters, Central Military District Supplies and Transport Branch, and is appointed Assistant Supplies and Transport Officer, Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 1st September, 1941.
Terence Power McLean to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 26th August, 1941.
Edward Taylor (late Imperial Army) to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Assistant Supply Officer, Headquarters, Northern Military District, Auckland. Dated 4th September, 1941.
THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant (temp.) J. B. Townsend is transferred to the New Zealand Scottish Regiment. Dated 1st September, 1941.
N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Lieutenant L. D. Lovelock, 8th Medium Battery, 8th Medium Regiment, is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 1st September, 1941.
THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) J. R. Gordon, 2nd Battalion, is transferred to the Waikato Regiment. Dated 1st September, 1941.
THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.
Lieutenant R. R. Gibson, from the Reserve of Officers, The Canterbury Regiment, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 2nd July, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) E. A. Bastings, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is posted to the 1st Battalion, with seniority from 8th January, 1941, next below 2nd Lieutenant (temp.) T. G. Walsh. Dated 1st September, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) J. R. Gordon, from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), with seniority from 5th July, 1941, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st September, 1941.
