Lieutenant (temp. Captain) J. P. Wells, 11th Company (Wanganui), relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain, and is granted the temporary rank of Major. Dated 13th August, 1941.

OFFICER STRUCK OFF STRENGTH OF 2ND N.Z. EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.
The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 102, dated 3rd October, 1940, relative to 2nd Lieutenant R. W. Edgley ceasing to be seconded to the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force, is hereby cancelled and the following substituted:—
“2nd Lieutenant R. W. Edgley is struck off the strength of the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force and is posted to the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List. Dated 28th August, 1940.”

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, and transfers of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
STAFF.
Major H. E. Erridge, N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Staff Officer, Ordnance Services, Army Headquarters, and Commanding Officer, N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps, is appointed Controller, Defence Services Provision Office, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while so employed. Dated 5th August, 1941.
Major E. L. G. Bown, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Commanding Officer, N.Z. Army Ordnance Corps, in addition to his present appointment of Chief Ordnance Officer, Main Ordnance Depot, Trentham. Dated 5th August, 1941.
N.Z. PERMANENT STAFF.
W.O. I (Staff Sergeant-Major) Thomas Frederick Stewart Rudd to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp.), and is appointed Quartermaster, Medical Store, Christchurch. Dated 30th August, 1941.
N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.
Gerald Holmwood Anderson (late Major, Imperial Army), to be Captain (temp.), and is appointed Assistant Officer, “A” Duties, Southern Military District, Christchurch. Dated 18th November, 1940.
Captain G. H. Anderson relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Officer, “A” Duties, Southern Military District, and is appointed Provost Officer, Southern Military District. Dated 26th August, 1941.
Captain (temp. Major) J. G. C. Leach relinquishes his appointment in the N.Z. Temporary Staff and the temporary rank of Major, and is reposted to the 1st Battalion, The Taranaki Regiment. Dated 25th August, 1941.
Lieutenant T. W. Exton, District Mechanical Transport Technical Officer, Southern Military District, is granted the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 1st August, 1941.
Captain J. G. W. Salt, Retired List, to be Captain (temp.), and is appointed Assistant to the Chief Instructor, Army Service Corps, Army School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 1st September, 1941.
Lieutenant L. H. Bowe, Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Platoon Commander, No. 7 Platoon, Guards, Vital Points, Central Military District. Dated 29th August, 1941.
Henry Steele Montgomery (late N.Z. Permanent Staff) to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Company Commander, No. 3 Training Battalion, Mobilization Camp, Trentham. Dated 29th August, 1941.
Clive Blackman to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Area Quartermaster, Area No. 11, Dunedin. Dated 3rd July, 1941,
