Major B. J. Mathewson, Southern Infantry Training Depot, is appointed to command 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Rest Camp, and is seconded. Dated 24th July, 1941.
Captain J. R. S. Sealy, 2nd N.Z. Divisional Cavalry Regiment, is detached for special duty and is seconded. Dated 19th July, 1941.
Captain A. M. Jordan, 2nd N.Z. Divisional Cavalry Regiment, is appointed Adjutant, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Rest Camp, and is seconded. Dated 24th July, 1941.
Lieutenant G. A. Murray, 20th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is appointed Duty Officer at Maadi Camp, and is seconded. Dated 25th July, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant A. J. Steele, 20th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is appointed to command 4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade Headquarters Defensive Platoon, and remains seconded. Dated 28th July, 1941.
Memorandum. — 2nd Lieutenant A. J. Steele, 20th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, held the appointment of Weapon Training Officer, Headquarters, Maadi Camp, from 24th February, 1941, to 28th July, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant E. Eastwood, Southern Infantry Training Depot, is appointed to command 5th N.Z. Infantry Brigade Headquarters Defensive Platoon, and is seconded. Dated 7th July, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant C. Meiklejohn, 19th (Wellington) Battalion, is appointed Weapon Training Officer, Headquarters, Maadi Camp, and is seconded. Dated 28th July, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant E. C. Awdry, 32nd (Wellington) Battalion, relinquishes the appointment of Officer in Charge, Base Provost Company, is posted to the Divisional Provost Company, and remains seconded. Dated 24th July, 1941.
2nd Lieutenant A. E. Hogg, Northern Infantry Training Depot, is appointed Officer in Charge, Base Provost Company, and is seconded. Dated 24th July, 1941.

N.Z. Dental Corps.
Captain W. G. Middlemass, B.D.S., H.D.D., R.C.S. (Edin.), is granted the temporary rank of Major while commanding a Mobile Dental Section. Dated 18th May, 1941.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve, under section 6 (a), Defence Act, 1909, of the change in designation of the undermentioned unit of the Territorial Force:—
2nd Battalion, The Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be redesignated “1st Battalion, The Ruahine Regiment,” with headquarters at Dannevirke.
Dated this 12th day of August, 1941.
