Land in Marlborough Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Blenheim, 19th August, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Tuesday, 7th October, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Thursday, 9th October, 1941, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Cloudy Bay and Linkwater Survey Districts.—Marlborough Mining District.

(Exempt from payment of rent for two years.)*
SECTION 2, Block II, and Section 3, Block XIV: Area, 680 acres. Capital value, £425; half-yearly rent, £8 10s.
Weighted with £303 10s. (payable in cash to the State Advances Corporation) for the following improvements: 138 chains of boundary-road fencing, internal fencing, and clearing.

*After payment of the broken-period rent, first half-year’s rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements, no further rent will be payable for a term of two years.

This property is situated approximately three miles from Rapaura, on a by-road, and fifteen miles from Blenheim. All hilly country, rising fairly sharply to an altitude of 1,200 ft., approximately two-thirds being shady faces. This country was originally covered in birch bush, the soil being shallow clay loam resting on hard clay subsoil; well watered by streams.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, 25th September, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Friday, 26th September, 1941, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

SECTION 85, Block VI: Area, 1 acre 0. roods 1·4 perches. Capital value, £25; half-yearly rent, 10s.

The section is situated on the Henley–Berwick Road, one mile from Henley Post-office, and a quarter of a mile from Henley School and Railway-station. The land comprises good river flat resting on sandy subsoil formation. Water may be obtained from the drainage channel.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 8th October, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements.

Weighted with £25 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising fencing.

The land is situated three miles from Omakau Post-office, Railway-station, and School. The greater part of the section is level and the soil is a schisty loam resting on gravel formation, commanded by Public Works irrigation.

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICE.

Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.

State Forest Service,
Auckland, 21st August, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will close at the office of the State Forest Service, Auckland, at 4 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, 11th September, 1941.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND FOREST CONSERVANCY.—AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

THE milling-trees are numbered and situated on that area containing approximately 710 acres, being Lot 1 of Provisional State Forest No. 93, Blocks II and III, Ranginui Survey District, about thirty miles from Te Kawa Railway-station.

The total estimated quantity in cubic feet is 565,760, or in board feet 3,924,000, made up as follows:—

Terms of Payment.

A marked cheque for one-tenth of the amount tendered, together with £1 1s. license fee, must accompany the tender, and the balance be paid by twenty-four monthly instalments, the first of which shall be paid two months after the date of sale.

Terms and Conditions.

  1. All instalment-payments shall be secured by “on demand” promissory notes made and endorsed to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of State Forests, and interest at the rate of 1 per cent. per annum in excess of current bank-overdraft rates will be charged on all notes overdue from the date of maturity to the date of payment.
