Whale Rock.—Lesser Depth reported.
Position: Lat., 35° 11′ S.; long., 174° 12′ E. (approx.).
Details: The rock is reported to be awash at mean low-water springs.

Notice to Mariners No. 19 of 1941.

Wellington, N.Z., 18th August, 1941.
NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—GISBORNE HARBOUR.
Signal Station Watch altered.
Previous notice: No. 19 of 1940, hereby cancelled.
Position: Lat., 38° 40′ S; long., 178° 02′ E. (approx.).
Details: On and after Sunday, 24th August, 1941, the following alterations will be made regarding the watch at the Signal Station and the working of the inner harbour. The present continuous watch will be curtailed. Except under conditions here stated there will not be a Signalman on watch from noon to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, nor during the whole day on Sundays and statutory holidays.
If ample notice is received by the Harbourmaster a Signalman will be kept on watch at such times, otherwise vessels working the inner harbour must remain outside until the Signalman comes on duty.
If ample notice is received by the Harbourmaster a continuous watch will be maintained when an overseas vessel is expected to arrive and while such vessel is at anchor in the roadstead.
