TRAINING BATTALION.

Corrigenda.

With reference to the notices published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 19, dated 6th March, 1941, relative to Major (temp.) F. W. Voelcker, M.C., Lieutenant P. B. Allen, Lieutenant P. C. Griffiths, 2nd Lieutenant (temp.) E. K. Norman, and 2nd Lieutenant (temp.) N. S. Triggs, for “Dated 23rd January, 1941,” substitute “Dated 9th January, 1941.”

Appointment.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp.) F. W. Voelcker, M.C., is appointed to command the 30th Battalion temporarily during the temporary absence of Colonel J. B. Mawson, M.C., V.D. Dated 28th January, 1941.

Grant of Temporary Rank.

Lieutenant (temp.) N. W. Steele is granted the temporary rank of Captain, vice Captain (temp.) L. A. Joseph appointed Adjutant. Dated 9th January, 1941.

Appointment.

Captain (temp.) L. A. Joseph is appointed Adjutant, 29th Battalion, vice Captain (temp.) J. K. Collins returned to New Zealand. Dated 11th December, 1940.

With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 19, dated 6th March, 1941, relative to Captain (temp.) J. V. M. Cauty, M.M., and Lieutenant (temp.) E. S. Clarke, for “Dated 23rd January, 1941,” substitute “Dated 9th January, 1941.”

8TH INFANTRY BRIGADE TRAINING BATTALION.

Major H. A. Pattullo, M.C., 29th Battalion, is appointed to command the 8th Infantry Brigade Training Battalion temporarily during the temporary absence of Lieutenant-Colonel (temp.) F. W. Voelcker, M.C. Dated 12th February, 1941.

Appointment.

Captain J. C. Holmes, 29th Battalion, is appointed Camp Area Officer, Samambula. Dated 5th November, 1940.

Appointments.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. B. Mawson, M.C., V.D., assumes temporary command of the 8th Infantry Brigade Group during the temporary absence in hospital of Brigadier W. H. Cunningham, C.B.E., D.S.O., V.D., and is granted the temporary rank of Colonel while so employed. Dated 29th January, 1941.

Brigadier W. H. Cunningham, C.B.E., D.S.O., V.D., having returned to duty, assumes command of the 8th Infantry Brigade Group. Dated 24th February, 1941.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) J. B. Mawson, M.C., V.D., relinquishes temporary command of the 8th Infantry Brigade Group, and the temporary rank of Colonel. Dated 24th February, 1941.

Captain A. D. Reid, 30th Battalion, is appointed Camp Area Officer, Namaka. Dated 2nd December, 1940.

Appointments.

Lieutenant-Colonel J. B. Mawson, M.C., V.D., assumes the appointment of Camp Commandant, Samambula. Dated 6th March, 1941.

Lieutenant-Colonel H. J. Thompson, M.C., assumes command of the troops of the Western Area, and becomes Camp Commandant at Namaka. Dated 6th March, 1941.

Lieutenant-Colonel C. W. Free, M.C. (Special Unemployed List, Indian Army), having been recalled to the Indian Army, relinquishes his appointment as Staff Officer, “G” Duties, Group Headquarters, but retains his appointment as Staff Officer, Fiji Defence Force, at Group Headquarters meantime. Dated 10th March, 1941.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp.) J. G. C. Wales, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, having reported from New Zealand for duty with 8th Brigade Group, is posted to Group Headquarters as Staff Officer, “G” Duties. Dated 10th March, 1941.
