Constituting the Hunua Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 3864.)

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of August, 1941.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS by section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on petition in that behalf signed by a majority of the persons qualified to be enrolled on the ratepayers’ list for any proposed district, constitute and declare any area of land of not less than one thousand acres a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act:

And whereas, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section thirty of the said Act, a petition has been received praying that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto be constituted and declared a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners accordingly:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific name of the “Hunua Rabbit District” and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purpose of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby further declare that the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.

SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE HUNUA RABBIT DISTRICT.

All that area in the Wellington Land District containing by admeasurement 43,770 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 4, Block IX, Hunua Survey District; thence in a south-easterly and easterly direction by the southern boundaries of Section 4, 2, and 3, Block IX, Hunua Survey District; thence in a southerly direction generally by the western boundaries of Sections 25, 24, the crossing of the Kawautahi Valley Road, by the eastern side of that road, the south-western boundary of Section 22, the north-western boundaries of Sections 27 and 19, the western boundaries of Sections 19 and 17, by the crossing of Oio Valley Road, and by the south-western boundary of Section 18, Block III, Kaitieke Survey District; thence by the south-western boundary of Section 7, Block IV, Kaitieke Survey District, and the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, to the No. 1 Oio Road; thence in a south-easterly and easterly direction by the north-eastern side of that road to its intersection with the Te Kuiti–National Park State Highway; thence by the crossing of that highway and by a line due east to the Piopiotea Stream; thence by the left bank of that stream to the Whakapapa River; thence in a northerly direction by the left bank of that river to its junction with the Wanganui River; thence towards the north-west generally by the left bank of that river to the north-western corner of the Manunui Town District; thence by the boundary of the Kaitieke County to the westernmost corner of Section 4, Block IX, Hunua Survey District, the place of commencement.

Constituting Ohura North Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 3865.)

SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE OHURA NORTH RABBIT DISTRICT.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing 99,200 acres approximately, the boundaries of which are more particularly described as follows:—

Commencing at the northernmost corner of Section 3, Block X, Aria Survey District, and proceeding generally northerly and westerly along the northern boundary of Ohura County to the northern boundary of Section 7, Block IV, Aria Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 7 and 6 of the said block to the said county boundary to the middle of the Ongarue River; thence easterly along the said river to a point in line with the west side of the Ohoron Road; thence south-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 23, 9, and 8 of the said Block I, to and in the same line across the Opotiki Road; thence south-westerly along the southern sides of the Opotiki and Ararimu East Roads to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 10, Block I, Rangi Survey District; thence westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of the said Section 10 to the north-east corner of Section 9, Block IV, Ohura Survey District; thence generally westerly along the northern boundaries of the said Section 9, Section 14, Block VIII, Sections 8 and 2, Block IV, Ohura Survey District, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence southerly and westerly along the western boundary of the said Section 2 to the Waingongo Stream; thence generally westerly along the Waingongo and Waitangata Streams to and along the middle of the Ohura River to a point in line with the north side of Prentice Road; thence north-westerly to and along the north side of the said road to the western boundary of Section 19, Block II, Ohura Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 19 and 20 of the said Block II, the western boundaries of Sections 20 and 24, Block XIV, Aria Survey District, to the eastern boundary of the said Block XIV; thence north-westerly along the said block boundary to a point 40 chains north of Section 26, Block XV, Aria Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point on the eastern boundary of Block X, Aria Survey District, 60 chains north-west of the northernmost corner of the said Section 26; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of Block X, Aria Survey District, to the northernmost corner of Section 3, Block X, Aria Survey District, the point of commencement.

WHEREAS by section thirty-one of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General, at the request of the Board of any rabbit district, may, by Order in Council, alter and redefine the boundaries of its district;
