A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for road; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one.

Crown Lands in Canterbury Land District set apart for Disposal by way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers under special tenures in the manner provided in the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CROWN LANDS.

Lot 1, D.P. 12040 (formerly Section 4, Aylesbury Settlement), Blocks V and IX, Rolleston Survey District: Area, 218 acres 2 roods.

Rural Sections 37265 and 37266, Block IX, Rolleston Survey District: Area, 6 acres 3 roods 12·7 perches.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 15th day of August, 1941.

Authorizing Acquisition of Land notwithstanding the Provisions as to Limitation of Area.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of August, 1941.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section two hundred and forty-six of the Native Land Act, 1931, and all other powers him enabling, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby authorize the disposition to and the acquisition by the Nukuroa Trustee Company, Limited, of the lands described in the Schedule hereto, notwithstanding the provisions of Part XII of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land containing 1,128 acres and 14·1 perches, more or less, in the Hukatere Survey District, being parts of the blocks called Te Komiti 1A, Sections 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, and 2F, parts of the said parcels of land being more particularly shown as Lots 47, 48, 50, 53, and 54 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under No. 16979, being the residue of the land comprised and described in Certificate of Title, Volume 606, folio 105, Auckland Registry.

Amending an Order in Council authorizing the Uawa County Council to erect Electric Lines in Portion of the Uawa County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of August, 1941.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council dated the twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 30 of the third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and doth hereby amend the Order in Council dated the fourteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 48 of the seventeenth day of the same month, authorizing the Uawa County Council to erect electric lines in portion of the Uawa County, by revoking clause three thereof (charges for electrical energy) and substituting therefor the following clause, viz.:

“3. CHARGES FOR ELECTRICAL ENERGY.

“The maximum charge for electrical energy shall not exceed 1s. 6d. per unit for lighting purposes and 1s. per unit for motor-power, heating, or cooking purposes: Provided that ‘lighting purposes’ shall include the operation of motor-generators for lighting purposes; and provided further that from and after the 1st day of April, 1942, the maximum charge for electrical energy shall not exceed 1s. per unit for lighting purposes and 6d. per unit for motor-power, heating, or cooking purposes.”
