Town Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 12th August, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Friday, 26th September, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 1st October, 1941, at 11 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

NOTE.—These sections are offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessees whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

  • The improvement loading is payable in cash in each case.

The Township of Whangamata is situated at the entrance to the Whangamata Harbour on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula, about twenty-three miles from Waihi. These are level sandy sections suitable for seaside residences.

Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 12th August, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 22nd September, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, 24th September, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce evidence of their financial position and farming experience.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Waimarino County.—Karioi Survey District.

SECTION 6: Block XII: Area, 40 acres 0 roods 34 perches. Capital value, £40. Deposit on deferred payments, £5. Deferred payments: half-yearly instalments (term: ten years), £2 6s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 16s.

Weighted with £50 for improvements, comprising dwelling 33 ft. by 33 ft. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £10, the balance may be repaid in four annual instalments of £10, plus interest at 5 per cent.

This area is situated alongside the Tangiwai Railway-station, and the Tangiwai Stream runs through the section. Area is an open natural clearing suitable for grazing.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, up to noon on Wednesday, 10th September, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Thursday, 11th September, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, and farming experience.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Marlborough County.—Wakamarina Survey District.

PART Section 1, and Sections 2A and 8, Block VIII: Area 511 acres. Capital value, £320. Deposit on deferred payments, £20. Deferred payments: half-yearly instalment (term: twenty years), £12 9s. 3d. Renewable lease: half-yearly rent, £6 8s.

Weighted with £505 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling, whare, wool-shed, yards, and dip, fencing, felling, grassing, water-supply.

This property is situated six miles from Havelock and thirty-four miles from Blenheim. Access is by launch from Havelock. The section runs from easy to steep hills, somewhat broken, while the altitude ranges to about 1,000 ft. above sea-level. The soil is of clay loam resting on rock formation. Approximately 350 acres mostly native pasture with fern throughout, while about 150 acres are in scrub and second growth. The area is suitable only for amalgamation with adjoining sections. The property in its present condition is only a dry-sheep proposition carrying 400-450 wethers.
