Defining Lands in Auckland Land District to which Water is supplied pursuant to Section 8 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by subsection (5) of section 8 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1939, I, James Gillispie Barclay, for the Minister of Lands, hereby give notice that the lands defined in the Schedule hereto are lands to which water is supplied under the said section.

ALL that area in the Taupo County, containing by admeasurement a total of 770 acres 3 roods 28 perches, more or less, being more particularly described as follows:—

Land Surveyors’ Examination, September, 1941.—
Australia and New Zealand.
The Survey Board of New Zealand,
Wellington, 25th July, 1941.
IT is hereby notified for general information that the Survey Board, in conjunction with the Australian Surveyors’ Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates for registration as surveyors, commencing at 10 a.m. on Monday, 15th September, 1941, at Wellington.
Candidates are notified that their applications, on the proper form, must reach the Secretary of the Board not later than Monday, 1st September, 1941, and that the examination fee must be paid at the same time to the Secretary, from whom application forms and other particulars may be obtained.
Candidates may present themselves for examination in the following written subjects:—
After one year’s service—
(1) Physics, geology, and forestry.
(2) Plotting and plan drawing.
(3) Computations A.
After two years’ service—
(4) Computations B.
(5) Engineering surveying.
(6) Town-planning.
After three years’ service—
(7) Laws and regulations.
(8) Astronomy and geodesy.
(9) Land-surveying design.
(10) Preparation of field notes.
(15) Land classification and valuation.
During the war period, however, candidates who have completed at least two years’ service under articles of indenture will be accepted for examination in any or all of the above subjects, and, with candidates completing former sittings, may present themselves for examination at any Chief Surveyor’s Office.
The oral and practical portion of the examination cannot be taken until the candidates’ term of indentureship has been completed.
Candidates for the oral and practical portion of the examination must sit in Wellington.
The fees for examination are as follows:—
Full examination .. .. 5 5 0
Part examination .. 3 3 0
Each subsequent part of examination 2 2 0

Notice calling up Reservists for Service Overseas with the Armed Forces.
National Service Department,
Wellington, 31st July, 1941.
IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have this day issued to—
Arnold Alexander Steele, Farm Hand, Buckland Road, Mangere East, Auckland, Registration No. 450019,
Leo Rex Burnett, Carpenter, Taihoa, Matamata, Registration No. 450013,
James Edmond Williams, Carpenter, care of A. V. Swanson, Builder, Waipukurau, Registration No. 452172,
James Hector McKerchar, Lorry-driver, King Street, Tuatapere, Registration No. 450022, and
Arthur Edward Lyons, Carpenter, 33 Gloucester Street, Christchurch, Registration No. 450021,
notices calling them up for service overseas with the Armed Forces as being reservists of Class A of the First Division of the General Reserve, such persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists belonging to a class of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.
