I, DAVID ANDREW YOUNG, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the undermentioned societies are not carrying on operations, such societies are hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908:—

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of SYMONDS STREET LIGHTS, LIMITED.
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company, duly convened and held at Auckland on the 14th day of July, 1941, the following special resolution was duly passed:—
“That the company, having achieved its purpose, be wound up voluntarily, and that ALAN CLIFFORD NORTHERN BELLAMY, Registered Accountant, of Auckland, be, and is hereby appointed, liquidator for the purpose of the said winding up.”

I, JAMES HARTLEY BLAKELOCK, M.B., Ch.B. (Univ. Sheffield, 1926), D.P.H. (Univ. London), now residing in Auckland, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 15th August next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Auckland.

Advertisement of Cancelling.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Deputy Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 16th day of July, 1941, cancelled the registry of St. John’s Branch, No. 602, of the New Zealand District of the Hibernian-Australasian Catholic Benefit Society (Register No. 193/60), held at Eltham, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that on the 18th day of July, 1941, Associated Industries, Limited, passed an extraordinary resolution as follows:—
“That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that accordingly the company be wound up voluntarily.”
Please take notice that a meeting of the creditors of the company will be held at the registered office of the company at 103 Nelson Street, Auckland, on Monday, the 28th day of July, 1941, at 2.30 p.m.

RICCARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
SOUTH-WEST AREA REPAYMENT LOAN, 1941, OF £8,800.
Resolution making special rate as security for the above loan passed by the Riccarton Borough Council. 9th June, 1941.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Riccarton Borough Council resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest 4 per cent. per annum, sinking fund 4·4 per cent. per annum, and other charges on the said loan of £8,800, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4½d. in the pound on the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the South-west Loan Special Rating Area as defined in a notice published in the Star newspaper on 20th February, 1926, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 31st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of seventeen years or such shorter period as may be determined by the Council, or until the loan is finally paid off.”
