Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.
Pursuant to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to Albert John Udy, of Carterton.

THE following notice, received from the Deputy Mayor, Petone Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF PETONE.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Petone, taken on the 2nd day of July, 1941, on the proposal of the Petone Borough Council to borrow the sum of fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000) for the following purposes:—
(1) The building of a stormwater culvert and purchase of pumping plant to deal with stormwater in the Bouverie Street — Ava Street area;
(2) The building of a stormwater culvert for the purpose of diverting Edmonds Creek and the erection of a gate valve in the Nelson Street culvert, with discharge pump to eliminate flooding in Regent Street and John Street;
(3) To build a drain to carry the Huia Street and Cuba-Jackson Street corner flood water; and
(4) To raise the level of Atiawa Street so as to divert flood water to proper channels; the voting was as follows:—

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IV, Wakapuaka Survey District, for Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Wakapuaka and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
