Road traversing Native Land proclaimed as a Public Road
in Block III, Horohoro Survey District, Auckland Land
District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the road described in the Schedule hereto
traverses Native land :
And whereas the Native Land Court, by an order made on
the sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and
forty, and issued pursuant to section four hundred and
eighty-four of the Native Land Act, 1931, ordered and
declared the said road to be a public road :
And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in
the public interest that the said road should be proclaimed
as a public road, and a notification to that effect has been
forwarded to the Minister of Lands in terms of section four
hundred and eighty-six of the Native Land Act, 1931 :
And whereas it is now expedient that the said road should
be proclaimed as a public road :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers conferred by section four hundred
and eighty-seven of the Native Land Act, 1931, do hereby
proclaim as a public road the road described in the Schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a
road : 4 acres 2 roods 27 perches.
Being portion of Rotohokahoka D North Block, Block III,
Horohoro Survey District. (N.L. plan 16178.)

In the Auckland Land District: as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked L and S. 16/6628,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, under No. 2886, and thereon coloured
red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 22nd day of
July, 1941.

Declaring certain Crown Land to be subject to Part I of the
Native Land Amendment Act, 1936 (Mahoenui Development
Scheme).

A PROCLAMATION.

PURSUANT to section five of the Native Purposes Act,
1939, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare
the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto to be subject
to Part I of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those areas of land situated in the Auckland Land
District being—
Firstly, all that parcel of land in the Waitomo County
containing by admeasurement 851 acres 0 roods 15 perches,
more or less, being Sections 1 and 2, Block VII, Awakino
East Survey District; as the same is more particularly
delineated on a plan lodged at the office of the Chief Surveyor
at Auckland, under No. 176621, and thereon edged red.
Secondly, all that parcel of land in the Waitomo County
containing by admeasurement 50 acres 3 roods 7 perches,
more or less, being Section 5, Block VI, Awakino East Survey
District; as the same is more particularly delineated on
a plan lodged at the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland,
under No. 31242, and thereon edged red ; and
Thirdly, all that parcel of land in the Waitomo County
containing by admeasurement 15 acres 0 roods 5 perches,
more or less, being Section 3, Block VII, Awakino East Survey
District; as the same is more particularly delineated on
a plan lodged at the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland,
under No. 18671, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 15th day of
July, 1941.

Constituting the South Hillend Rabbit District.—(Notice No.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 16th day
of July, 1941.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section thirty of the Rabbit Nuisance
Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General
may, by Order in Council, on petition in that behalf signed
by a majority of the persons qualified to be enrolled on the
ratepayers’ list for any proposed district, constitute and
declare any area of land of not less than one thousand acres
a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of
the said Act :
And whereas in pursuance of the provisions of the said
section thirty of the said Act a petition has been received
praying that the area of land described in the Schedule hereto
be constituted and declared a rabbit district under and for
the purposes of Part II of the said Act, and it is deemed
expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petitioners
accordingly :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His
Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby
constitute by the specific name of the “ South Hillend Rabbit
District ” and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule
hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purpose of
Part II of the said Act, and doth hereby further declare that
the basis on which the Board to be established for the said
district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis
of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.

SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE SOUTH HILLEN D RABBIT DISTRICT.

ALL that area of land within the Southland Land District
containing 45,000 acres, more or less, situated in the Oreti
Hundred and Taringatura Survey District, in the Counties
of Southland and Wallace, within the boundaries as herein-
after described as follows: Commencing at the south-western
corner of Section 76, Block XIV, Oreti Hundred; thence
in a north-easterly direction along a public road, to and across
another public road; thence in a north-westerly direction
along the last-mentioned public road to the eastern bank
of the Aparima River; thence in a northerly direction
generally along the eastern bank of the said Aparima River
to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 136,
Block XXVII, Taringatura Survey District; thence in an
easterly direction to and along the southern boundary of
the said Section 136 and that boundary produced to the
western boundary of Run 135, Block XXXII, Taringatura
Survey District; thence in a southerly, south-easterly, and
easterly direction along the western, south-western, and
southern boundaries of Block XXXII aforesaid to the
western boundary of Run 149; thence in a southerly, easterly,
south-easterly, north-easterly, and northerly direction along
the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Run 149
aforesaid to the south-western corner of Section 256, Block
XXXIV, Taringatura Survey District; thence in an easterly,
northerly, and again easterly direction along the southern,
eastern, and southern boundaries of the said Section 256
to the Hogg-Shuttleworth Road; thence in a south-easterly
direction generally along the said Hogg-Shuttleworth Road
to and across the Dipton Stream; thence in a north-easterly
and easterly direction generally along a public road forming
the south-eastern and southern boundaries of Lots 55 and
52 respectively, D.P. 35, to and across a road reserve to the
western bank of the Oreti River; thence in a southerly
direction generally along the western bank of the said Oreti
River to a point in line with the north-western boundary
of Section 7, Block VII, (Oreti Hundred; thence in a south-
westerly direction across a road reserve, to and along the said
north-western boundary of Section 7 aforesaid to Rivers-
side Road; thence in a northerly direction generally along
the said Riverside Road to a point in line with the northern
side of Ryan Road; thence in a westerly direction across
Riverside Road aforesaid, to and along the northern and
north-western sides of the said Ryan Road to its junction
with the Hedd on Bush—Winton Road; thence in a south-
westerly direction across the said Hedd on Bush—Winton
Road, to and along the north-western and northern sides
of Mayfield Road; thence in a westerly direction along the
northern side of a public road to the point of commencement
