Lands in the North Auckland Land District forfeited.

Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, 15th July, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the leases of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeit by resolution of the North Auckland Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenure.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, 16th July, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenure under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 3 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 18th August, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 20th August, 1941, at 11 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.--THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Mangonui County.--Opoe Survey District.

SECTIONS 23 and 24, Block IV, and Section 95, Block V:

Area, 164 acres 0 roods 2 perches. Capital value, £165.

Deposit on deferred payments, £15 : Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: twenty years), £6 4s. 8d.

Renewable lease: half-yearly rent, £3 6s.

Weighted with £30 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising fencing and drains and iron shanty.

The sections are situated two and a half miles from Waiharara and twelve and a half miles from Awanui; access being by metalled road. They consist of flat to easy undulating country with some kauri swamp, covered in scrub, &c. Watered by swampy springs.

Town Lands in Otago Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Dunedin, 15th July, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924 ; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 8th September, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 10th September, 1941, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

The Town of Makarora is situated approximately one mile from the shores of Lake Wanaka, two and a half miles from Makarora Post-office, three miles from Makarora School, and sixty-five miles by good gravelled road from Cromwell Railway-station. The sections, which are practically level, would make good building-sites, commanding a splendid view of the lake and of the surrounding scenery. The soil is a heavy loam of good quality, resting on gravel formation.
