Decisions of the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions in respect of applications for licenses were made on the 16th June, 1941.

Fish Canning.
G. H. Metcalfe, care of Messrs. Inder and Metcalfe, Barristers and Solicitors, Auckland (as trustee for a company to be known as “John Kaaland, Limited”) For a license to commence to carry on the above industry to the extent of establishing a factory and plant in the Bay of Islands or neighbouring district for the purpose of canning kahawai, trevalli, and generally all edible fish Granted.
Industrial Fishing.
H. H. Falleni, 8 Moxham Avenue, Hataitai, Wellington To take fish for sale by means of the fishing-vessel “Hukurere,” WN. 278, using long-lines, hand-lines, and crayfish pots, catches to be landed at Paremata Declined.
P. J. McCashin, 31 Rex Street, Miramar, Wellington To take fish for sale by means of a 14 ft. outboard, using hand-lines, catches to be landed at Pukerua Declined.
Fish Retailing.
O. C. Stackhouse, 353 Riccarton Road, Riccarton, Christchurch To commence the retail sale of oysters opened and in shell from premises situated at that address Declined.
S. Lettica, 41 Coutts Street, Kilbirnie, Wellington To transfer his existing license covering the retail sale of wet and cooked fish from premises at that address known as “Burgiss’s Fish Supply,” so as to enable him to operate from premises in Seatoun yet to be decided upon Declined.
Manufacture for Sale of Macaroni.
Star Milling Company, Limited, Caversham, Dunedin To commence to carry on the above industry .. Declined.
Canning of Fruit and Vegetables.
Northland Canneries, Limited, Waipapakauri, North Auckland To commence to carry on the above industry to the extent of canning vegetables only at Waipapakauri Granted for vegetables grown in Waipapakauri district only.
