The Borough of Napier; that portion of the Gisborne-
Napier via Hangaroa Main Highway extending from the
western boundary of Napier Borough to the inter-
section at Petane of the said main highway with the
Petane-Eskdale Main Highway; and that portion of
the Napier-Palmerston North Main Highway extending
from the southern boundary of Napier Borough to the
intersection near Clive of the said main highway with
the Farndon-Pakipaki Main Highway:
The Cities of Wellington and Lower Hutt; the Boroughs of
Petone and Eastbourne; that portion of the Masterton-
Wellington Main Highway extending from the northern
boundary of Wellington City at Ngahauranga to the
south-western boundary of Petone Borough; and all
that area bounded to the north by the southern boundary
of Lower Hutt City, to the south by the northern
boundary of Eastbourne Borough, to the west by the
foreshore of Wellington Harbour, and to the east by a
line extending from the south-eastern corner of the Lower
Hutt City near the Waimui Hill Road to the north-
eastern corner of the Eastbourne Borough:

The City of Christchurch, the Boroughs of Riccarton,
Sumner, and Lyttelton, the County of Heathcote, and
all that area of Fendalton within the Waimairi County,
bounded to the east by the western boundary of Christ-
church City, to the south by the northern boundary of
Riccarton Borough and by the Christchurch-Timaru
Main Highway, inclusive of the said main highway,
between Riccarton Borough and Ilam Road, and to the
west and north by Ilam Road and Webb’s Road, but
exclusive of those roads:

The City of Dunedin, the Boroughs of St. Kilda, West
Harbour, and Port Chalmers, the Peninsula County,
and all that portion of the Dunedin-Port Chalmers
Main Highway extending from the north-eastern boundary
of the West Harbour Borough to the western boundary
of the Port Chalmers Borough:
The City of Invercargill, the Boroughs of South Inver-
cargill and Bluff, and all that portion of the Invercargill-
Bluff Main Highway within the Southland County.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency
Regulations 1940.
PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency
Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth
hereby order and declare that the provisions of clause (1) of
Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far
as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not
apply to Leo Norman Berridge, of Omata.

Warrant in Terms of the Traffic Regulations 1936 approving of
Appliance for use on Motor-vehicles.
IN terms of Regulation 10 of the Traffic Regulations 1936,
the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve of the
appliance described in the Schedule hereto for use on or in
connection with a motor-vehicle additional to the lamps
required by Regulation 7 of the said regulations, provided
that and so long as the said appliance is identical in design,
construction, make, and effect with the sample thereof
deposited in the office of the Transport Department,
Wellington.

IT is hereby notified that Wednesday, 6th August, 1941,
is to be observed as Arbor Day, and in view of the
national importance of tree-planting, local bodies throughout
New Zealand are requested to organize suitable celebrations
on that date.
Where on account of local climatic conditions in any
district the 6th August is deemed unsuitable, the local bodies
affected are invited to observe some other suitable day in
that month.

Notice of Intention to take a Leasehold Estate or Interest in
Land for the Purposes of Linen-flax Development (Clydevale
Factory) in Greenfield Settlement.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a linen-
flax factory—and for the purposes of such public work the
leasehold estate or interest in the land described in the
Schedule hereto, held from His Majesty the King by Alexander
Hyslop under and by virtue of lease-in-perpetuity (1378),
Volume 138, folio 146, Otago Registry, is required to be
taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of
the land in respect of which such leasehold estate or interest
is required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at
Clydevale and is there open for inspection; and that all persons
affected by the execution of the said public work or by the
taking of the said leasehold estate or interest in the said land
should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the
execution of the said public work or to the taking of such
leasehold estate or interest, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing, within forty days from the first
publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land in respect of which
the leasehold estate or interest is required to be taken:
35 acres.
Being part Sections 52A and 59A, Greenfield Settlement.
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particu-
larly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 111387, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington,
and thereon edged red.
