Decisions of the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions in respect of applications for licenses have been made.

R. A. Evans, 72 Wilton Road, Northland, Wellington To take fish for sale by means of the 28 ft. fishing-vessel “Vitesse,” using long-lines, hand-lines, and crayfish pots, catches to be landed at Paremata Granted .. 9 June, 1941.
Retail Sale of Fish.
A. R. Choat, care of Tompkins and Wake, Solicitors, Victoria Street, Hamilton To commence to carry on the retail sale of wet and cooked fish from premises situated in Grey Street, Fairfield, Hamilton Declined 9 June, 1941.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear.
A. Lunnon, Lunnon Shoe Services, Guyton Street, Wanganui To commence to carry on the above industry to the extent of manufacturing men’s working-boots, sales to be confined to applicant’s own shop only Granted .. 9 June, 1941.
R. Williams, 77 Marsden Street, Lower Hutt To commence to carry on at the above address the manufacture of children’s soft slippers, sizes 0–6 inclusive Granted .. 9 June, 1941.
M. Bosnick, Bosnick and Co., 416 Karangahape Road, Auckland For an extension of his existing license covering the manufacture of basket shoes by the pumps method, so as to permit the use of the cemented process Declined 9 June, 1941.
Pharmacy Industry.
I. W. Grigg, 1A Taora Road, Orakei, Auckland To carry on the business of a pharmacist at premises situated at 54 Coates Avenue, Orakei Granted .. 9 June, 1941.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear.

A N application has been received from Hollywood Shoes, Ltd., Lorne Street, Auckland, for an extension of its existing license covering the manufacture of sandals and slippers by the machine-sewn, fair-stitch, cemented, and pumps processes, so as to permit the manufacture of evening shoes.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 3rd July, 1941.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

A N application has been received from D. Perano, The Crescent, Picton, for an extension of his existing license covering the taking of fish for sale by means of the 39 ft. fishing-vessel “Mahau,” PN. 43, using hand-lines, long-lines, purse-seine bait-nets, set-nets, and drag-nets, catches to be landed at Picton, so as to enable him to take crayfish for sale, using crayfish trawl-nets, and to operate such nets between Rununder Point and Tory Channel Heads.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 3rd July, 1941.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

A N application has been received from T. Isbister, Paremata, for a variation of his existing license covering the taking of fish for sale by means of the 22 ft. fishing-vessel “Kate,” WN. 207, using drag-nets, long-lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Paremata, so as to permit him to fish with the vessel “Amuri,” LN. 234, and to use trawl-nets, set-nets, drag-nets, purse-seine bait-nets, long-lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Island Bay and Paremata.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 3rd July, 1941.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

A N application has been received from J. R. Lidgard, Hamer Street, Auckland, for a license to take fish for sale by means of a 38 ft. fishing-vessel (to be constructed), using long-lines and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Auckland.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 3rd July, 1941.

Price Order No. 36.

I N pursuance of the powers conferred upon the Price Tribunal by the Control of Prices Emergency Regulations 1939, and with the authority of the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Price Tribunal hereby makes the following Price Order:—

  1. This Order may be cited as Price Order No. 36.

  2. The maximum price at which the polishes and stains manufactured by the Kiwi Polish Company of New Zealand, Limited, may be sold by way of retail at any place in New Zealand where a wholesale general merchant is situated shall be not more than as follows:—

Polishes .. .. .. 7d. per tin.

Stains .. .. .. 7½d. per tin.

  1. At any other place in New Zealand there may be added to the price hereby fixed the actual or proportionate amount (calculated to the next highest halfpenny) of any extra freight incurred from the nearest wholesale general merchant’s store to place of sale.

Dated at Wellington, this 13th day of June, 1941.
